Another Huge Blow to Democrats-- Iraqi PM Maliki Announces "We Have Defeated the Terrorists!"
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki announced on Saturday--
"WE HAVE DEFEATED TERRORISM!"

Obviously, this wonderful news will not make any headlines here at home but it is still fantastic and historic news. It made the news in Great Britain anyway. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki announced today that the terrorists in Iraq have been defeated!
The AFP reported:
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said on Saturday that the country's security forces have managed to save Baghdad from a "siege by terrorists" backed by foreign nations. But, this isn't good news for everyone...
"When we took over Baghdad it was under siege, with all roads leading to neighbouring provinces controlled by terrorists. They had surrounded Baghdad from all sides, backed by the bad intentions of other countries," Maliki told a gathering of top Iraqi and US officials including Washington's envoy to Baghdad Ryan Crocker.
"We wanted these nations to support and assist us in stabilising the country but they were thinking of finishing Baghdad," he said, without naming the countries.
"But Baghdad continues to stand," the Shiite prime minister said in a speech marking the fifth anniversary of the killing of prominent Shiite leader Mohammed Bakr al-Hakim in a 2003 car bombing in the holy city of Najaf.
"Yes, there are still Al-Qaeda militants left but they are being chased. We are hunting them. But we have been able to lift the siege of Baghdad."
There are those who fought hard to bring down the Iraqi Democracy, including:
** Al-Qaeda- The terror group has lost and is on the run in Iraq
** The Iraq Study Group- Who foolishly expected the surrounding terror regimes to quash the violence in Iraq
** Democrats- Who fought like hell to lose in Iraq-- Murtha, Reid, Pelosi--- You were wrong, WE WON!
** Barack Obama- Who was wrong about the surge, wrong about the US military, and wrong about turning Iraq over to its dangerous neighbors, and still flip-flopping like a wet noodle on where he stands
** Iraq's neighbors- They were just outed by the Iraqi Prime Minister. They're not fooling anyone (except Barack Obama).
Don't look for this news on the front page...
But thank a soldier, thank a Marine and thank George W. Bush for making this world a safer place.
UPDATE: Aide to General Petraeus: "The progress in Iraq is irreversible. There will be "significant reductions in 2009 whoever becomes president."

This is great news that unfortunately will not be reported. History will show the truth however. With regads to the dirty troll, I could cut and paste murder statistics from every major US City over the last week but don't care to take the time to feed him. No matter how much evidence is presented to a troll they continue to scream that they're right and everyone else on the face of the earth is wrong. Thinking people know a fool when the read one. Enough said.
According to the obsessed mental patient who posts under the user name "meatbrain," the terrorists in Iraq used six roadside bombs to rack up a total casualty count of two dead and 19 injured.
Yet the obsessed mental patient thinks that this pathetic tally proves that the terrorists are still as effective as ever.
The obsessed mental patient is blinded by her unrequited love, so she doesn't understand that she's provided us with a self-refuting post.
Despite the obsessed mental patient's best efforts, the country recognizes the impending victory in Iraq and is grateful for the bravery and sacrifices of our troops.
If the terrorists have been defeated, then Senator Obama is correct in saying he'll bring the troops home!
What a prescient man.
Now you guys wouldn't want to keep our troops in a country where the terrorists have been defeated, would you?
We need to send those troops to Afghanistan where violence and attacks have increased to where 2001 levels.
"Yet the obsessed mental patient thinks that this pathetic tally proves that the terrorists are still as effective as ever."
Tom W. is lying, of course... I have made no such claim. But blatant lying by wingnuts is the rule at this site.
Hey meatbrain,
Well, let's see: using your own logic--such as it is--and this recent article, I guess we'll need to "redeploy" out of Obama's home turf:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,351981,00.html
"We Have Defeated the Terrorists!"
So, when do US troops leave?
Meatbrain and KS can never admit that the United States of George Bush has accomplished anything good in the world. 25 years from now, if Iraq is the South Korea of the middle east, exporting oil and manufactured goods, holding free and fair elections, and keeps the peace it has won, the neo-Stalinists in this country, like meatbrain and KS will STILL be stamping their feet insisting that they were better off under Sadaam, there were no weapons of mass destruction, and George Bush was the real terrorist. (Oh, and don't forget that the American troops were violent, mindless, thugs who broke down doors in the middle of the night to terroize and torture innocent freedom fighters)
American Victory diminishes the Left, and their ideals. Remember that they were on the side of the Soviets, the Viet Cong, Al-Qaeda, Chavez. When we win victories over the enemies of this nation, they lose. That is why Vietnam holds such a special place in their hearts. They were able to engineer a defeat for our forces, spit on them, proclaim America a moribund power that was capable of nothing more then spreading evil and misery through the world. Remember that ANSWER was formed in the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks to promote two ideas; 1. We deserved to be attacked, 2. We should not respond with force, and if we respond with force it is because of oil and racism. Pretty much sums up the Democrat party position.
So prattle on, Marxists. We know, America is a racist, sexist, homophobic, fascist, theocratic Empire. The troops are midless thugs who, in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, blah, blah, blah.
"But thank a soldier, thank a Marine and thank George W. Bush for making this world a safer place."
Maybe it's about time somebody got a campaign going to thank President Bush for having the fortitude to do the right, not the popular, thing. I have seen few attempts by anyone to counter the vicious attacks that have been aimed at him.
Mission Re-Accomplished!
Woo hoo! Drop the balloons and ticker-tape!
So the surge worked and the terrorists are defeated but we must stay.
And stay and stay and stay.
No wonder McCain is trying to pretend he and Obama have the same Iraq policy.
Obama will get out in 16 months and end the war.
Republicans have no plan. Never did, never will.
Try again, punter.
Well we have a meathole sighting again...
Its rather amusing to see that meathole now whines about lying: "But blatant lying by wingnuts is the rule at this site"...
Coming from you meathole, well that's just rich!...ROFLMAO!
Then the abysmally stupid KS chimes in with this nugget: "Now you guys wouldn't want to keep our troops in a country where the terrorists have been defeated, would you?"...
Gee! Let me guess KS, you've been saying the samething about troops stationed in Germany, Japan, and Korea, right?
Do you ever get tired of playing the tool?
"So, when do US troops leave?"
Sniff sniff, when do the troops leave, sniff sniff.
They leave when the job is done you pathetic selfish coward...our men and women are still in Germany and Korea, do you want them to come home too?
Damn you leftists, you are so myopic and anemic.
Steve Brown.
Gogli would like the unwashed and educated to think it's republicans who "Don't have a plan" when from the begining the plan has been to stay until the job is completed and not a moment longer. Unfortunately with war this is as specific as realistically possible. Obama's plan is CHANGE. Yeah, like that's a plan for anyone other than the simple minded.
A grass-roots campaign to thank President Bush would be a very good thing. The press is ignoring all of the good news coming out of Iraq - you have to go to the UK press to read any of it.
That's pretty damn sad.
But you know, the Dem convention is coming up and then Obamas Free Publicity tour of Europe with accompanying photo-ops all meant to keep people from realizing that he's DONE NOTHING to earn the Oval Office.
In retrospect, Hillary was right: he gave a speech, once.
The thing is, even a grass-roots effort to thank Bush - eve if thousands and thousands of us marched in DC and ended up at the WH - the press would just embargo that information.
When was the last time you saw a picture of the annual Right to Life March in DC, which always has 50,000 or more marching?
We are hostages to the press, even on the blogs.
Fortunately, Bush does not seem to need our thanks. He seems to be the rare creature who is content to do the right thing and not seek praise for it.
He is a very great man.
I came across this: http://grapson.wordpress.com/2008/07/06/sign-the-petition/. Perhaps folks would sign it.

Keep rooting for your side Meatbrain, and hope that when the boys DO get home they don't decide to conduct a few treason prosecutions on their own. I can just see hippies overrunning the northern border crossings in terror.
The most telling point of that picture (aside from a boy waving, and a GI smiling, is that there appears to be a little girl in that pool. Little girls are allowed to swim in public swimming pools, despite all the males around. Thank you, America.
So meatbreath and all the other personality-challenged so-called leftards, who actually have no real ideological structure except mostly untargeted, chemically-unbalanced rage, can post whatever mean-spirited drivel they like. The facts are on the ground. A little girl got to swim in a public swimming pool, and when she grows up, she stands an extremely American-enhanced chance of not being raped by a Baathist (particularly those named Uday or Qusay).
Does anyone think the meathole doesn't want to look at domestic violence rates in this country because these urban areas are mayored by libtard Democrats?
I mean look at two typical examples: Washington D.C. and New Orleans
No sense crying in our champagne over the Unknown Victory in Iraq. Let us find ways to torment the media and liberals with the awful reality they refuse to recognize. I can tell you that there are still lefties roaming around who are still are mouthing the political correct talking points from two years and who are convinced we are losing. It throws them into confusion when you look them in the eye and tell them with a confidence they find unnerving that we are winning in Iraq and winning big.
Let us go forth with happy hearts to bring the Hammer of Truth down on the bad judgement, the stupidity, the defeatism, and the treason of the Left in the most painful manner possible. Let us bring the Iraqi President to the White House to announce the victory in Iraq while the Democrats hold their convention. Let us bring a platoon of Iraqis to the Republican convention to thank America for removing Saddam, for driving away his Baathists and the jihadis, for creating a democracy where they can govern themselves, for opening a free market, for giving them a future. Make them available to the media and send out canned interviews to any media outlet which will publish or broadcast them. We should feature an Iraqi each week who tells how his life and prospects for the future have improved due to the US intervention.
Can you imagine how much we can discredit the liberal media with news of a victory in Iraq? Right now, they are as credible as car salesmen with the public. We can use Iraq to drive them down to the level of crazy street prophets predicting doom on their sandwich boards!
Pull up the defeatist quotes of Obama and the knucklehead Left and beat them like a drum. Let us turn this victory into a rout for the Left! We were Right and we are getting Righter every day!
It is great and wonderful that we're making progress in Iraq. That doesn't mean I want to reward the people who put us in there.

I really have to laugh when I see idiot leftists point out supposed "facts" to illustrate their points. Bombs exploding in (insert name of city). In the big scheme of things, so what! I don't mean to sound callous but it really doesn't mean anyhting. Not all the bad guys are dead, but they have been defeated. We have millions of police officers in our own country, how come crime has not been defeated? Does this mean that the cops should give up and concede defeat? I think not. Anyone, anywhere, who is bent on death and destruction will normally never be caught until after he or she does whatever it is they do. Most good police work is reactionary. They will eventually be caught and will pay the price. I was against going into Iraq in the first place, but now that we are there, we need to see the job through to its conclusion. To do any less would be to dishonor all who served. Plus, while I believe many mistakes were made in fightiing the war, Bush is correct in saying that if we leave too soon, we will be fighting them here on oour own soil.

Another HUGE BLOW to JIMMYCRAP HOFTWAD! Reality intrudes into his fantasy world!

Anbar

Man those terrorists sure have been DEFEATED real good, huh, Jimmycrap?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
What a complete tool you are, Hoftwad!
"Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq"
"BWAHAHAH," indeed. Five bombs, only one of which actually managed to kill anybody. Apparently the terrorists just can't get good help these days.
Do these enemies control the government ... NO.
Do these enemies have any reasonable chance of taking control of the government at this point ... NO.
Have the acts of indiscriminate bombing and other attacks against civilians in Iraq turned the citizens against these enemies ... making such tactics counterproductive for reaching the enemies' objectives ... YES.
Do these enemies have the capability and the will to engage Iraqi Army/Police and Coalition forces in legitimate guerrilla warfare IAW the Geneva Conventions, as opposed to being limited to uncoordinated, indiscriminate -- and increasingly, non- and counterproductive -- acts of terror ... NO.
Are these enemies increasing or decreasing in their ability to inflict casualties upon the Iraqi people and those protecting them ... DECREASING.
Sounds a lot like defeat to me. Keep in mind that, even after Germany and Japan were defeated, remnants of those enemies still attempted to perpetrate violence to reverse the decision.
They failed ... as these enemies are failing in Iraq.
And we know who the tools are ...
Strain strain strain ... strain those gnats
Then fling 'em out like monkey poo from wherever you're at
As you swallow camels of destruction 'till your meatbrain goes splat ...
Strain strain strain ... strain those gnats
meatbrain wanna cracker ...
"At 10:55 am a roadside targeted Khalid Abu Mihahid a leader of the Islamic party in Falluja near the Islamic headquarter. He was injured with two of his guards."
Three people injured over 75 killed is an improvement -- how in the world you can't see this is beyond me...you are so blinded by your anemic philosophy that you can't even be intellectually honest.
You really must be a sad person and sorry loser. I feel sorry for you meatbrain.
Steve B.
One of the things that has been the most frusterating as a soldier, is the fact that no matter what gains we make, no one seems to report our sucesses. They reported about "Bob" the beheaded guy found in a septic tank where our new COP was going to be, and the later destruction of that particualr sight, but not the fact that we built up there anyway, or how we had miles of sewage piping ready to install which Jaysh al-Mahdi made all but impossible, or the opening of schools, or passing out candy etc.
And yet when we were engaged in combat and called the apachees down on our attackers (wich had taken women and childern as hostages) They reported it before we even got back to the FOB and told the tale of the "poor" Rueters photographer and his driver that got killed. We didn't even know he was in the area, and he was found right next to a man with an RPG. didn't hear that in the news. It's so agrivating!!!
I guess I just want to say for all those people who are chanting "bring the troops home," what the heck do you care if we come home? I don't know you and surely, you don't speak for me. I am in Baghdad right now for my second deployment. Amazing things are happening everyday here, I see it with my own eyes, we are making and difference and giving the Iraqi's the confidence they need to do things on their own. Why not send us all home then? The Iraqis newfound confidence is soaked in the belief and we will be there to help push them forward when they fall back.
Yeah deployments are not fun, but I can also say that working in an office from 9-5 is not much fun either. What I do is important for the future of our country and the world. I hope that you have the same belief about your life, that things you do every day make a difference. The sense of purpose that my job brings to my life enables me to tolerate people who make ignorant statements about a war they know nothing about. It allows me to be respectful to people who know nothing about me or my comrades but claim to speak for us.

Okay! Great! Now let's get the hell out of Iraq? What are we waiting for? We have defeated the terrorists; the Iraqi Army is strong; the Iraqi government wants us to set a date. Why not leave???
Oh, yeah. I forgot. About those "no-bid" oil contracts....
Okay! Great! Now let's get the hell out of Iraq? What are we waiting for? We have defeated the terrorists; the Iraqi Army is strong; the Iraqi government wants us to set a date. Why not leave???
Because ... just as in WWII ... there are a few still out there who don't know they will not win, so they will keep trying to inflict damage until they are stopped - permanently.
And, because we must make sure that Iraq can stand independently, and be assured that they can no longer be hijacked again for the support of terrorism.
Politics ... here, and there ... is getting in the way of the prudent course of action.
Your politics are part of the problem, Anon ... do keep in mind that it is the LOSER who decides WHEN the war ends.
The winner decides HOW ... and that is why we are still needed there.
Oh, yeah. I forgot. About those "no-bid" oil contracts....
Get freakin' real ... if we were really into this for the oil, we wouldn't have gone to war.
We would have joined in the UN Crude-For-Food scam, instead ... and Mr. Bush might have scored a Nobel for "avoiding war" if he had.
Of course, the Iraqis would have remained in oppression ... and the terrorists would have still been able to count on Saddam for support, as they had for years.
Take your simplistic, BDS-laced cynicism and throw it on the ash heap of history.
