BUSH GOTS SEOUL!!... Pro-American Protesters Give Bush a HUGE Korea Welcome!!

Amy Proctor is currently blogging from Korea and has this wonderful news including video of Bush's Big Welcome in Seoul, South Korea.

South Korean Christians participate in a rally to welcome a visit by the U.S. President George W. Bush in Seoul, South Korea, Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008. Bush Wednesday will meet with Lee, whose attempts to foster goodwill with Washington by allowing resumed imports of U.S. beef sparked weeks of raucous anti-government protests over mad cow fears. The letters read ' Alliance between U.S. and South Korea'. (AP)

Amy explains that none of the pro-Bush rallies were government sponsored; they were voluntary rallies by Koreans who appreciate Pres. Bush and the United States.

Here's another video of the MASSIVE PRO-BUSH RALLY!

This didn't seem to make any headlines back home today for some reason.

Bush has to go to a furrin' country to get people to adore him?

As the Goopers said, re: Obama in Germany--"Who cares how a furriner feels about him--we're Americans!"

So you're proud that South Koreans honored Bush, but not so much when 200,000 Germans honored Obama?

Nuts.

know what KS? I'm proud but the point of this that I see is that the press doesn't recognize any good news except for the big ZERO O...or they do recognize it but choose to hide it from the public. Yeah. That's the ticket..if we don't write or talk about it...it just didn't happen.

Oh yeah, that's right. ONLY one of them is actually president and has actually accomplished anything.

Well, that's what happens when you're universally loved.

Universally loved?

Yeah ... by those who see their way up as dragging America down to the least-common-denominator of international standing, just like thieves "love" their victims ...

... or by American citizens who believe that such a course of action is deserved and will lead to a better world, history and common sense be damned.

Until the whole world begins to "hold these truths to be self-evident" as we do, the result of such a course of action would be worse ...

... worse for America ...
... worse for global prosperity ...
... worse for sustainable peace.

OTOH, as for those doing the voting, love for the Big 0 is anything but universal ... and has decreased significantly since the first date.

Sorry, KS, but we're not going to put on those beer goggles you seem to be wearing, to make the Big 0 look better.

This also happened in Europe and in Africa when President Bush went to visit those places this year.

The Koreans, like the Europeans who applauded President Bush when he visited there this spring are beginning to realize the truth in the old adage "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.". The South Koreans, like their Euro counterparts, have always longed for an American President who hates America as much as they do. Now that they might get one they are beginning to realize how disastrous it will be for them.

The Koreans and the Europeans have for decades always been able to rely on only one country to come to their aid (no matter how badly they kicked them around) and that country is the United States. It is beginning to sink in to their heads that if Obama gets elected he will prostitute himself to every Islamofascist tyrant and Communist dictator from Tripoli to Pyongyang. And if push comes to shove Obama has made it quite clear who's side he is on-he will side with the Islamofascists, the neocommunists in Russia and just about anyone else who hates western civilization and freedom.

The freedom loving parts of the world are beginning to get that sinking feeling that they will soon be on their own and they don't like it much.

May I point out to you that it was Bush who negotiated with Tripoli, and Bush who negotiated with the Commies in North Korea. And Bush who has sent emissaries to Islamofascist Iran, and Bush who looked into the neocommunist Putin's eyes and saw his soul.

You really are out of your mind. It's called projection. You are predicting Obama will do EXACTLY what George W. Bush has done. He and his administration has negotiated and met with all of your boogiemen tyrants.

Bush gets plenty of love here in the States. Just as this didn’t get any American media attention that I saw, we tend to hear the complainers in the U.S. when it comes to Bush, not the appreciators.

Korea has a progressive party that is comparable to the Democrats. Korea (ROK=Republic of Korea) also has a conservative party which is now in power.

The main anti-American sentiment in Korea is based on 3 things;
1) that there is a progressive party in Korea that must oppose any conservative U.S. administration (its just what liberals do);
2) the mad-cow beef problem;
3) that U.S. soldiers have really screwed up in their behavior among the locals. Sexual assault by troops in Korea is the largest problem here in the ROK. I say we kick all liberals out of the military.

Korea also has a large and devout Christian population. North Korea is the worst place to live if you’re a Christian. The assault and persecution of Christians is the worst in the world and the state religion supports, enforces, Kim Jung Il as the deity.

S. Korea sends more missionaries out than any other country besides the U.S. and has a thriving, devout and charasmatic Christian population. During the Korean War many N. Korean Christians fled south and are still here waiting for the unification of North and South Korea. Anyway, I digress.

The Korean people are some of the most wonderful I have ever met. They are highly educated, very sensible and if they support Pres. Bush its because they “get it”. I was driving down a city street in Korea yesterday and a man in the back seat of a taxi rolled down his window and enthusiastically started giving me the thumbs up and clapping for me. He spotted my pro-American and Army bumper stickers and with Bush in town I think he wanted to show me appreciation. This wasn’t even in Seoul where the demonstrations were taking place.

Bush ROKs, and so do Koreans, kam-sa-ham-ni-da!

From last month:

Obama Offers Change Kim Jong-Il Can Believe In

Pyongyang is the capital of N. Korea:

Pyongyang favors Obama because he has vowed to meet leaders of rogue states, such as the North Korean leader, without conditions if elected.

The report said the campaign shows that the United States has undergone a fundamental change and pointed out the obvious: Hillary is a woman, Obama is black and McCain is old.

Obama has said that he may be willing to sit down face-to-face with leaders like North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il if that’s what it takes to resolve the continuing nuclear tension on the Korean peninsula.

McCain said last month that it is of vital interest to the United States to end nuclear weapons programs by countries like North Korea, calling Kim a “dictator.”

N. Korea likes Obama as they liked Clinton, who did nothing. Essentially Kim Jung Il got a great photo op with Madeline Albright to show his peole and the world how much he and the U.S. were in sync. N. Korea prefers Obama over McCain, but too bad Kim Jung Il cannot vote.

Probably unrelated, I note that the town of Obama, Japan--amazingly, not eponymous, despite Obama being the Chosen One--had gained a brief flash of international fame for celebrating the serendipitous commonality of the two names. Being industrious Japanese, the Obama townsfolk quickyl set to cranking out marketable Obama trinkets and whatnot playing up on Mr. Obama's name and fame. Obama Town is now no longer news, just like (I certainly hope), Obama himself will, in December, no longer be news.

I'm curious about the age of the Korean crowd. People I know who've served in Korea in the military say they like the elderly Koreans very much--the people whose lives were saved by the US (and other UN troops)--but many of the young people had largley become European/Canadian: boorish, reflexively anti-American, rude.

Considering all Korean males must serve in the military, which means they probably have some contact with US soldiers at some point during their time in service, I wonder how that affects young Korean men's perceptions of the US?

The few I've met in Japan have professed neutrality or ambivalence.

But, but, but this can't be. A demorat told me all foreigners hate not only Bush, but the entire United States. Comical thing is that in my six+ years living in Southeast Asia, including Korea, I never came across the hate. Normal fine people in every country I lived in. Did Bush throw a big rock band bash to get them out? Na, that's only required for a dhimmi, even in the Northwest U.S. Otherwise the dhimmi only draws the homeless (a lot less now than when Bush took office) who live in the park. Ain't it great when a plan comes togather. The 'A' team is on an 8 year winning streak, Beating the dhimmi's like a small child beats a drum, loud and often, and beating the enemies of America in the U.S. congress (dhimmi's) worse than they beat AQ in Iraq.

No ... you are KluelesS about the conservative worldview, KS.

We have no problem with negotiation, as long as it is done in good faith from all sides, and leads to outcomes that lead to the protection and nurture of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

When dealing with totalitarian thugs, in order to keep them honest and assure the above, a rights-respecting nation must be ready and willing to exercise the alternative to negotiation ... confrontation, up to and including armed conflict ... and that readiness/willingness must be credible in the eyes of all parties involved in the negotiation.

Therein lies the vast gulf between our current President and the Big 0 ...

... the Big 0 would only confront our allies in the GWOT, like Pakistan and Iraq, while "unconditionally" negotiating with the likes of Iran and Syria. Don't tell me it won't happen, for we have seen it before from leaders of like mind, like Carter and Clinton ... and Clinton was center-right, not a hard Leftist like the Big 0 ...

... while our current President has demonstrated the will and capability to go to war, if necessary, to thwart the expansion of totalitarian rule. That established credibility in the eyes of those who needed it established the most ... our adversaries, among them Quadaffi and Kim Jong Il.

That will that has been tempered -- and as a result, our credibility in these matters has been lessened -- only by the unprincipled "dissent" from the likes of you and your ilk, amplified to heavy-metal levels of distortion by your compadres in the MSM ... sapping the political support for such credible confrontation when it is needed the most.

In other words, it is the Left who is gumming up the works here ... as always. Anything to establish a world where "NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT TO DO" ... but you can tell responsible people what to do in excruciating detail.

That ... not compassion, not respect for others, not even a desire for peace (because if that desire was there, y'all would be protesting in Tehran before you soiled the streets of DC) ... is the driving force behind the anti-war movement: the desire to Save the Legacy of Woodstock Nation by overthrowing the free-enterprise Establishment.

In other words, the Leftist "peace movements" are frauds ... and it is these frauds that have hijacked the Democratic Party.

I remember the last time this happened ... 1972 ... and I remember the election results.

'72 -- DEJA VU!

The real peace song of our day ... when it comes to liberating the oppressed, eliminating arms stockpiles, and creating conditions for sustainable peace ...

... is not Kumbiyah or the jaw-jaw of diplomacy sans credible confrontation ...

... it is the Yippie-Ky-Ay-A of credible confrontation, with the aim of seeing dysfunctional governments transformed into the one form historically validated to foster sustainable peace ...

... rights-respecting governance, where the government is structured to "hold these truths to be self-evident".

Big 0 will settle for much less than that ...

... and we -- and the whole world -- can't afford to settle for less.

Not if we are truly interested in peace ... for without freedom and the respect for it, peace is just an illusion.

Gateway, don't forget that a big part of this story is that the media pimped it as massive crowds opposing Bush the day before he arrived. I saw a report that said potentially 100,000 protesters might come out. Only a few hundred did! Instead, 15,000 came out to welcome him.

Reuters corrected it’s headline from:

Bush arrives in Seoul, faces large anti-US protest

to

Bush arrives in Seoul amid minor protest

Sneaky, eh?

Hubby saw a copy of Stars and Stripes, notably a left leaning military paper, with only the protesters on the cover giving the impression that Bush didn't have any supporters but tons of protesters. That's part of the story here, how the media will do whatever it can using its avenues to smear Bush.

KS, it was not 200,000. That number is totally unrealistic and comes from the anti-Bush, anti-American German media. Don't believe it? I suggest you watch German tv a bit. Full of anti-American crap. Private and state-owned channels alike.

And, the Siegessäule is NOT a Nazi monument. Get that out of your head quickly, folks. It was MOVED to its current location by the Nazis, but it's a lot older than Adolf's movement (it used to stand at the Reichstag). Adolf had it moved there because he thought it would fit better into that area once he'd been done building his super city "Germania". It's a momument built by the old German empire celebrating the victories over France (1870/71), Austria (1866) and a few others. If you want to bash the Germans (and there's plenty of material to do so), then get something real.

And for the notes: the Koreans who protested against Bush have something real to protest about, unlike those in Europe or America. Here and in the US it's pure and simple anti-Americanism. Mad Cow Disease is a different thing, totally different (mind you, I won't, ever, buy British beef). I don't care what Bush or Obama say about the controls for meat in the US, because I know there's not way they'll ever be as thorough as in here in Austria. We do have some of the strictest regulations for food. I've not even see foreign meat on the market around here. We don't need it anyway, we produce enough for ourselves as it is. And face it, Korea and Japan can roduce the meat they need themselves, too. They don't need that US meat.

But as I was saying. Those Koreans were not protesting against "evil" America and "devil" Bush. They'd do the same with British beef. I'm pretty sure, if there wouldn't be this issue with meat imports, there wouldn't have been an anti Bush protest at all (and if, then it would have been extremely small). South Koreans aren't sheep like the Germans.

Now KS, what "furrin' country"? South Korea eats up Germany easily. Their economic power is greater than Germany's. And the Koreans aren't whiney bitches like the Germans either. Not to mention that the Koreans have been great allies for the US (Korean Marines anyone? Look at their service history with their US allies) I rather be cheered on by 2,000 Koreans than 200,000 (illusinary) Germans. Last guy who got cheered on by that number of Germans... was Adolf Hitler (and the pope, though, he's not really a better alternative either).

Taking a step away from the "Bush/Omaba good, Obama/Bush bad" politiking, but I've always found Korea interresting for two almost unique cultural features:

1. Most cold-climate cultures have a comparatively bland traditional diet (e.g. Sweeden, England) while spicy foods are more common in hot tropical environs (e,g, Thailand, India). Korea is one of the few cold/temperate cultures I can think of that has a very spicy traditional diet.

2. ROK is the only non-European country I can think of that has a significant Christian population but was never occupied/colonized by a Christian European nation.

"Obama represent America returning to its best ideals and traditions of liberty, democracy, social and economic progress."

Obama represents America returning to its worst ideas of the past, large taxes, large welfare, less liberty, more government imposed mandates, higher prices, social engineering and economic stagnation.

There, thats better. Obama does not know what the word - Liberty stands for - as he will take it away from private citizens and companies to make our own choices. He is a socialista fascist who wants ultimate power like Lenin, Stalin, Fidel, Chavez.

"The Republicans are all about warmongering, ignorance, fear, hatred, racism, sexism, fascism and greed. The world is tired of that."

The Republicans are all about a) Defending our Nation, maintaining a Strong Defense, Liberating 50 million people from Tyrants today - much like they liberated slaves under Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War which Democrats fought against, b) Common Sense with American InGenuity, Intelligence and overwhleming Spirit of Free Americans to overcome any obstacle in our path, c) Traditional Values that built and made this country great, Fear of God, Love of Country, love of neighbor, love of the oppressed, hatred of Tyrants! No respector of persons, believing all have a right to pursuit of happiness not based upon skin color or sex, but on attitude, determination, perseverance and hard work, d) fighting against large government takeover of states and individuals rights like the Obama camp and Democrats want to do in the future and have done today. Like not allowing the We The People to decide our own solutions for Energy Independence! Like opening Offshore Oil to help transition to the future of alternative energy products. By creating jobs at home, drilling here, creating more wealth and taxes with money that stays in America instead of supporting the Middle East Sheiks! In short, Democrats are - ACTING LIKE FASCIST - against We the People's will to Drill!

So, Grow up... stop making false assertions and take a real long look in the mirror at your brownshirt and at you own pathetic candidate puppet and who he associated with to gain power to do essentially nothing as a Senator, with no experience.

Put down the bong pipe your smoking JJ and come back to reality. You can if you try. The sun will shine another day if you'll stop accepting the Obamatron lies as truth. You can be deprogrammed from the junk that has currently infested your brain.

It is called, getting a real life and stop making up fiction, stop whining, and start being part of the American dream which we all can have if Democrats WILL GET OUT OF OUR WAY!

Obama APOLOGIZED at a Nazi Monument to the country that caused two World Wars, the country that we had to rescue Europe from TWICE, the country that cost us hundreds of thousands of lives, for things WE fixed ourselves without involving any other country.

And unlike Obama, Bush has drawn enormous, enthusiastic crowds, without paying them with free goodies, on 3 continents.

But, as always, the only foreign opinion that matter to liberals are white socialist European opinions.

Pointing out the obvious: Obama isn't President, Bush is. S. Korea has committed more to fight the war on terror and are frankly better allies in this respect than Germans.
