Members of the Mexican military crossed into Arizona on Sunday night and held a US Border Guard at gunpoint.
The Washington Times reported:
A U.S. Border Patrol agent was held at gunpoint Sunday night by members of the Mexican military who had crossed the border into Arizona, but the soldiers returned to Mexico without incident when backup agents responded to assist.Newsmax has more on the incident.
Agents assigned to the Border Patrol station at Ajo, Ariz., said the Mexican soldiers crossed the international border in an isolated area about 100 miles southwest of Tucson and pointed rifles at the agent, who was not identified.
It was unclear what the soldiers were doing in the United States, but U.S. law enforcement authorities have long said that current and former Mexican military personnel have been hired to protect drug and migrant smugglers.

They're just doing the jobs Americans won't - guarding drug mules.
Until we stop Mexico from exporting its economic problems to America it'll never get well.
Let me see now.
The U.S. is on the wromg track acording to the Democratic talking points.
Yet thousands of people will cross our borders to live here.
Hmmmmm! Typ. Liberal spin if you ask me.
I have worked in Mexico and I know why they come here.
It ain't to work thats for sure.
This is not how a friendly government acts. Could you imagine if the US Army did this to Canada or Canada did this to us ? I can't even imagine that happening.
We are a three hundred pound gorilla that needs to roar and stop acting like a squeaky little mouse.
The worst foreign policy in US history was giving them their country back after we conquered it.
Until a government comes to power that gets serious about the Mexican border then they are wasting our money on anti-drug programs and are only half-heartedly protecting us from terrorists.
Our Border Patrol agents need to be capable of calling in close air support for this type of hostility on our soil.
This agaent needs to be able to summon a daisy-cutter, a well-placed smart bomb or a couple of Appache helicopters.
For God's sake people.
If an Agent thumbs his nose at them he will have to serve prison time.
Get your heads out.
He would be prosucuted for a racest act
When are US agents going to start firing on these infiltrators?
That would put an end to this real quick.
Intentional provocation to stir up the immigration issue, imho.
I just sent a strongly worded letter to my representative.

tbronze, border agents are NOT equipped to fight regualar army troops. They would get creamed. This has to be dealt with at a much higher level, and with the threat of military action to take out rogue Mex troops, if need be.
Looks like the Border Patrol was right. This is being called an accident now.
