In the new Iranian video game inspired by Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei players are tested in sacrifice and martyrdom. Players battle to rescue two nuke scientists kidnapped by Americans and by the "Zionist" regime.
But, the US rained down on the Iranian martyr's parade today.
** Last year when Kuma Reality Games heard about the development of "Rescue Nuke Scientist", they responded by creating a follow-up to their game titled "Assault on Iran, Pt. 3: Payback in Iraq." Kuma said the game picks up where they understand their Iranian counterpart leaves off.
In "Pt.3 Payback in Iraq", Commander Bahman discovers that the scientists he rescued weren't really captured by US soldiers — but defected instead!

It's really too bad about this latest development. Iran was so proud of their new video game!
Fars News reported:
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- An Iranian student group has unveiled a new video game that simulates an attempt to rescue two Iranian nuclear experts kidnapped by the US military and held in Iraq and Israel.Too bad for Iran.
The "Rescue the Nuke Scientist" video game, designed by the Union of Students Islamic Association, was described by its creators as a response to a US-based company's "Assault on Iran" game, which depicts an American attack on an Iranian nuclear facility.
"This is our defense against the enemy's cultural onslaught," Mohammad Taqi Fakhrian, a leader of the student group, told reporters on Monday.
Players of the game play the part of a special agent battling to release captured Iranian diplomats and nuclear scientists from the clutches of his US and Israeli foes.
"In this game we are not promoting terrorism and violence. By freeing Iranian hostages we are promoting selflessness, devotion and defense of our country," said Fakhrian.
The eight-level game starts in Iraq, where a young married couple who are Iranian nuclear scientists have been captured by US forces while making a pilgrimage to the Shiite holy shrine in Karbala.
Then the Iranian special operations officer Bahman Nasseri enters, whose mission it is to save the couple, named Saeed and Maryam, who have now been spirited away to a prison in Iran's arch-foe Israel.
He slips into Israel and locates their prison.
US-based episodic game developer, Kuma Reality Games, already has the next version written to the game!

Well they're treating the Iranian game as "Part 2" of their series; and in fact, Kuma's "Part 3" picks up where the Iranian game was said to leave off -IQPierce.
In Payback, Commander Bahman discovers that the scientists he rescued weren't really captured by US soldiers — but defected instead. Whoopsie-daisy.

Iran Introduces "Escape of the Nuke Scientist" Video Game
Great follow-up on the American version. I mentioned the Iranian game on my blog last night, but had no idea that America countered.
ReplyDeleteWhat we need is a Part 4 of the game that Iranian youth too can play.
ReplyDeleteIt involves them overthrowing the theocracy to free Iran, leading to rapproachement with the US.
this analysis is kind of crap...
ReplyDeleteIt's a great pissing contect for a game, but as a "response" it's pretty weak since it's not getting any media attention.
The reason I say it's crap is because Iran's getting lots of propaganda out of it, even from CNN where I saw a 15 second story on it as "New/first Iranian video game, encourages loyalty & sacrifice" w/ passing mention of it being a mission to find missing nuclear scientists. no mention that you get to shoot up US & Isreali soldiers, etc. wtf CNN?
I only heard of the kuma game recently 'cause the History Channel had released a version of of a game for their Dogfights tv show, which I downloaded & led me to the kuma forums, where there's a thread on "Assault on Iran" w/ a mix of comments from Iranians whoe emailed Kuma making comments on the game while it was in development and probably after. Comments ranged from "why USA make games like this against Iran"", "hurry, please assault iran & rid us of our asshole religious government, this game would be big in Iran", & of course "USA==big satan, blah blah". it's a million pages long so i didn't read it all, but that's the gyst of it.
It's nice that these Iranian computer students have the freedom to make a game like this. No freedom to choose their leaders or free speech, but I guess they don't mind that.
