The US Congress Does It Again...
Now China Quits 5+1 Talks Over Congressional Actions!
Two weeks ago Iraqis protested the US Congress...

Demonstrators chant slogans during a protest in Baghdad October 6, 2007. Members of the Iraqi Democratic Nation Party held a rally in Baghdad on Saturday protesting against the federal system in Iraq which was proposed by the U.S. Senate. The writing on the banner reads "No No to Federalism, United Iraq from south to north and from east to west". (REUTERS/Thaier al-Sudani)
Watching America has more on Iraq's displeasure with the US Senate resolution.
Last week Turkey protested the US Congress...

Members of the left-wing Workers' Party wave Turkish flags as they chant slogans during a protest against the U.S. and its passing of a bill describing World War I-era killings of Armenians as genocide, Istanbul, Turkey, Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007. Despite intense lobbying by Turkish officials and opposition by U.S. President George W. Bush, the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed the bill by a 27-21 vote, a move likely to be considered an insult by most Turks. (AP Photo/Murad Sezer)
Some people see this Armenian genocide vote as a Democratic sabotage of our armed forces during wartime.
And now...
In less than 3 weeks the US Congress has caused protests in Iraq, Turkey and now official protests by the government in China.
Good going, guys!
Fars News Reported:
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- A US official said international talks in Germany on the Iranian nuclear program have been postponed after China canceled in protest. The AP does the only thing it can do to help the poor Democrats- They blame the "Congressional Gold Medal" given to the Dalai Lama on Bush.
The unidentified official told reporters Monday that the move seems to reflect China's displeasure over a visit by the Dalai Lama to the United States.
The US Congress will award the exiled Tibetan leader its highest honor in a ceremony Wednesday - the same day the Berlin talks were scheduled.
The unnamed official said China's cancellation will probably push the talks off until next week.
The meeting between the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany is supposed to discuss whether to impose new sanctions on Iran.
China also canceled this year's annual human rights talks with Germany that were to be held in December.
After German Chancellor Angela Merkel signaled she would meet the Dalai Lama last month over China's protests, Beijing called off talks with German officials scheduled for the same day.
US President Bush is expected to attend Wednesday's award ceremony and meet with the Dalai Lama at the White House. China has objected to the Dalai Lama's visit, which it says interferes in its internal affairs.
UPDATE: Good job, dems!
Oil prices soar on US tension with Turkey.
Good post, but the Dalai Lama is not getting the "Congressional Medal of Honor," he is getting the "Congressional Gold Medal."
ReplyDeleteThe Medal of Honor is only given to members of the U.S. armed forces. The Gold Medal is given to civilians.
Thanks-corrected.
ReplyDeleteAre these the same anri-American lefties who proudly extoll their own prowess at "diplomacy?" They can't point to even ONE diplomatic success that wasn't hammered home by military action or threat, yet they want to lead this nation? Their arrogant self-absorption continues to be stunning.
ReplyDeleteIf this is how the Dem controlled congress 'rebuilds' our links to the other nations of the world, I can't WAIT to see how effective their other policies will be.
ReplyDeleteWhat utter buffoonery.
Don't forget all the Dem congress and senate critter who have gone groveling to Assad and Muslim Brotherhoods like the good dhimmis they are.
ReplyDeleteI just wonder what secrets they have told them and whether or not alot of their "buffonery" is little more then them playing with fire to try to help them domestically with the election. I would not put it past the tards (and I will use that term) in the Democratic party to think that if they can turn the whole world into a raging fire it will help them win the White House. Why? Because they will have their propaganda wing the MSM try to lay blame for the whole mess on President Bush.
The Democrats care nothing about how many people die as long as Hillary is anointed queen. ALL they care about is power. It is not surprising, though. George Soros was more then happy to help the Nazis send his fellow Jews to Auschwitz. Remember that-the person who owns the Democratic party thought nothing of sending thousands to the gas. Yes, a WWII war criminal now owns the Democratic party.
Jim,
ReplyDeleteWe certainly don't want to forget our illustrious Congress has already whizzed off Colombia's President: Uribe's Failure to Win U.S. Congress Signals Loss of Trade Pact
Our Congress is doing at least as good a job as Ahmadinejad of alienating what few allies we retain. Quite soon, possibly before years end, it will be America Alone and then....
They are not stopping there it looks like the deal between the US and India is going to tank because of congressional actions.
ReplyDeleteThey might be the next one in line.
The dems keep saying they are going to be the ones to bring us back into sync with the world stage and we already see how well that's gonna work.
ReplyDeleteAll you hear from the left is crickets chirping.
Well, Nancy Pelosi got off to a good start making a hash of US foreign policy and offending our allies. Does anyone else remember her trip to Syria where she falsely claimed to convey a message of peace from Israel?
ReplyDeleteI do.
F' the chink mutts.
ReplyDeleteThe Democratic Congress - making friends for America everywhere. Oh yeah, I can't wait to put a Democratic president in charge of this oh so competent Democratic Congress. Not.
ReplyDeleteCongress' job is to sabotage Bush by all means to make Bush look bad. Their sudden vote against Turkey was a response to the sudden success in Iraq. They can't let Bush win there, so they turned Turkey against us. Same is true against Uribe's free trade pact. They would support it if it were negotiated by a Dem president.
ReplyDeleteOur unpopularity outside the USA is certainly not new! Check out the documentary "Internationally Speaking" made over two years ago dedicated to this very topic.

I can see the prudence of not passing the Armenian resolution, but there's something really infuriating about seeing the Turks take to the streets over it. Do they deny the massacre? I guess the USA is the only country that has to be contrite nowadays.
ReplyDelete"Check out the documentary "Internationally Speaking" made over two years ago dedicated to this very topic"...
ReplyDelete"Seen as individuals rather than cultural stereotypes, people from all over the world share their opinion of America, its government, its foreign policy, and its people. In the midst of growing international “Anti-Americanism,” real people tell Americans what they think and why in an attempt to further understanding and compassion"...
Hmmm, well I for one think the sniveling parasites (alledged 'real people' of the world) have a point...
I guess its high time to cut this EXPENSIVE MONKEY off the back of American taxpayers...
Perhaps the Turks should pass a resolution condemning the United States for 200 years of slavery and the genocide of the Native American people. Plank in your eye, my friend?
ReplyDeleteI'll only apologize if they apologize for their own history of slavery and tribal elimination.
ReplyDelete"Perhaps the Turks should pass a resolution condemning the United States for 200 years of slavery and the genocide of the Native American people"...
ReplyDeleteIs that before or after the Turks sue the Arabs for their 400 year jihad against them?
Which slavery? The indentured slavery before 1800 or the chattel slavery after 1800.
ReplyDeleteYou're forgetting that slavery wasn't considered a crime until after Thomas Jefferson penned the Declaration, and wasn't legislated a crime until after Abraham Lincoln signed an amendment.
ReplyDeleteStill isn't in Saudi Arabia from what I hear.
A while back someone sent me this link and I only thought of it due to Papertiger's comment...
