This was an attack not a protest.
Where is the security???

Condi is attacked during her talk by Code Pink. (AP)

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, right, is confronted by CodePink member Desiree Anita Ali-Fairooz, her hands painted red, as she arrives to testify on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, before the House Foreign Relations Committee hearing regarding US policy in the Middle East ,where she spoke about Iraq, Iran, and the Israel Palestinian conflict. It took an 79 year-old man to come to her rescue???

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is rescued by Rep. Tom Lantos, D-Calif., right, Chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, right, looks on. Notice the Code Pink attacker has "bloddy" hands all the way around Condi. (AP)

Michelle Malkin has more on the Code Pinkos running wild.
Funny, Condi doesn't look frightened. I think you're projecting.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me that there are photos of this crazy woman being tackled by 10 Secret Service Agents about 3 seconds following this photo. Please tell me that it happened. If it didn't, then I would say that it's time to close the White House, and the Congress to the public -- perminately.
ReplyDeleteAnon, you don't sound intelligent. But maybe I'm projecting from previous encounters that I've had with progs.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, at the least, a bit of reciprocity is in order. We can see if fright is involved at all.
There have been numerous incidents, as I recall, of Code Pink disrpting Executive testimony before congress. I am beginning to think that the Democratic leadership deliberately allows them in to throw Bush Admin officials off guard.
ReplyDeleteCould someone create a list of these incidents?
Last night, during his talking points, Bill O'Reilly predicted that someone is going to get hurt by these left wing, socialist, radical thugs.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that this woman could get so close to the Secretary of State tells me that O'Reilly is probably correct. How long before one of the leftist thugs loses it completely and harms someone like Condi Rice?
This broad should be in jail. Today. And held on a $1,000,000 bond.
The "peace" groups are anything but peaceful and they are beginning to realize they don't have the clout they had in 1970. The total melt down is near and when they do finally melt, all hell is going to break lose.
You know it's bad when Tom Lantos trys to help a Bush administration member.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this and I too am troubled. How on earth did this *nut* get so close to Condi??
ReplyDeleteI strongly suspect that the Security Detail has been replaced. The lunatic shouldn't have gotten that close. Could have been a suicide bomber.
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did any of them get in with their makeup on?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, one wonders if Dr. Rice should file assualt charges on the hag with the bloody fingers?

ReplyDeleteCondi advises Code Pink
Use the applicator next time you change on of those things you dumb bi**h.
Does anyone else wish that Dr. Rice had pummelled that hippie? If she had, I think the Republican primaries would be a waste of time, as Condi would have been a write-in land-slide for President.
ReplyDeleteRepublicans are too gutless to deal with these jerks. This is clearly assault. Whatever Democrat invited this woman to the meeting needs to be censured (or fired if they are not an elected official). You don't get into these things w/out an invitation.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that anyone could have gotten that close to Maddy Albright without having been shot 47 times by the secret service already.
How the hell did any of them get in with their makeup on?
ReplyDeleteOl' Medea and her traveling pink freak show can do pretty much want they want on Capitol hill.
The Democratic party and Code Pink are all owned by the same people. Just like Pontiac and Chevy are both owned by GM. The Democrats control the house and senate thanks to those who let them win in 2006, thus they control the Capitol Police and they do what they are told. Of course, the Capitol Police are members of the SEIU too, iirc. And the SEIU is chock full of moonbats that think Code Pinko is a wonderful organization.
Damn shame the Capitol Police didn't have the right equipment...
ReplyDeleteWe could've been entertained like THIS if the police had gotten their collective act toghether...
Perino: It seems that Congress is run by Code Pink
We are all blessed that she is still alive (Condi.) Oriely is right; it is just a matter of time before one of these activists takes a life. I really can't see why we allow them into the buildings to begin with -- they have nothing to add to what they have previously stated.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to Democratic Underground and read the worshipful comments concerning this "brave patriot's" actions, you can quickly understand that someone reading these post is going to have the fantasy of being the person to solve all the problems caused by what they perceive to be an evil government. These people (code pink, etc.) have formed a religious vitriol around this subject, and just like David Koresh and the Branch Davidians, and the Islamic Fascist that we are fighting, this type of fanatic behavior sometimes ends in death or murder.
I’m not willing to loose an elected official to these mobs. I call for the public to be banned from these hearings. We have C-Span and the media to keep us informed. We have phones and e-mail to keep them informed about our wishes. If you doubt what I say, take a look at the Jim Brady Press room.
Sweet Jesus! I just looked at the video! I am more frightened than ever about our country and these immoral radicals trying to bring it down.
ReplyDeleteI am with Eric and others who call for all testimony before Congress and Committees of our Government to be off-limits to all protest groups...Code Pink should not only have been ejected, but arrested and permanently banned from inside the Capitol, even as a tour group!
#2 - I sincerely hope that this dangerous situation today will help people understand that there really are some who are radically unstable enough to do this and worse.
The woman's name is Desiree Farooz. Google her name and read about her 'other' episodes. It is betond comprehension that she was allowed anywher near Condi based on her history. Someone REALLY dropped the ball on this one. Farooz is on a track to become the next Squeky Fromm. She makes Cindy Sheehan sound the the kid in the back seat who constantly asks 'Are we there yet?". Unbelievable
ReplyDeleteI am beginning to think that the Democratic leadership deliberately allows them in to throw Bush Admin officials off guard.
ReplyDeleteGee. Ya think?
You know it's bad when Tom Lantos trys to help a Bush administration member.
Whatever else he is, Lantos has always been a gentleman. Old school.
The Sec. should have had a Blackwater security detail.
ReplyDeleteHotAir has the AP video of the code pink people being ejected from the hearing room.
ReplyDeleteThere has GOT to be some sort of change in the Congress and Senate committee meetings. These lunatics are going to end up hurting someone.
ReplyDeleteI cannot understand why they are permitted admittance. They violate protocol over and over. Who the hell is in charge here, the inmates?
Why do these women keep hijacking the words 'feminism' and code 'pink'; there is nothing feminine or pink about these in- your-face bitches. I would have taken her down myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd the pissant guard didn't do anything.Must have been a Bill and Hillary appointment. I f I had been in the detail, the moonbat would have at the least, a broken arm.
ReplyDeleteDesiree did not attack Ms. Rice. Ms. Rice was not scared because she knew that she was not being attacked. Desiree went through extensive screening by security before she went in, so everyone knew she had no weapons and everyone knew she was no threat. Desiree was participating in the act of nonviolent civil disobedience, which is a time-honored practice that was supported by the founders of our country. She fully expected to be arrested and she is willing to suffer the consequences of her behavior. Please read the Constitution of the United States of America and read some history. If you can do these things, then you can intelligently comment on what Deiree was doing. If you can't do these things, then you don't deserve to comment on her extremely patriotic action.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteYou are wrong about the potential threat. I know a thing or two about the martial arts, and I can tell you for certain that if I had been able to get my hands into the position relative to Condi’s head, that this Moonbat achieved, that I could have effected a killing – and nobody could have stopped it. In fact, a small amount of training – maybe 5 minutes worth of training would be all that is necessary for anyone to learn this skill. All it takes is a willingness to go to jail and these moonbats are proving that they are willing.
I never would. This particular Moonbat didn’t either, but my thought is that it is just a matter of time. We have to stop the unnecessary threat to our public officials that these people present. They also place our security forces at unnecessary risk. They distract skillfully, and I would not be surprised to learn that the Secret Service had been distracted in the hallway and may have been dealing with a subterfuge incident to allow this kook to get close to Condi.
As for weather or not Condi looked scared, or thought that she was being attacked is hardly a valid argument. President Reagan didn’t look scared to me as he was being shot, nor did Jim Brady. You’re making a really bad point.
Also, keep in mind that Condi is paid to have a poker face. She’s a professional negotiator and she’s trained to mask emotion.
I’ll say it again – I want the public bared from these proceedings.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteExtremely patriotic action? Is that how you define this? Are you comparing her with real patriots?
I have to push back on your statement because you’ve compared her to historic patriots that held discussions and made arguments based on fact, belief, logic or values (many of whom were liberal and many of whom were conservative.) I don’t see a forum of discussion in her actions. I see the opposite – a person who interrupted a group that was about to have a discussion concerning peace. That group contained people who held viewpoints that might have been similar to Deiree’s position and they were preparing to make their argument. This “extreme patriot” as you call her, interrupted, and in fact, weakened the position of those that were speaking for her beliefs.
It’s never patriotic to try to hush the opposing side. It’s never logical. It never works. Confrontation tends to build barriers between opposing forces in negotiations of thought.
This code pink tactic is wildly backfiring on them. They don’t care – it’s that simple – they don’t care. They have no interest in hearing what others think. They have no faith in anyone but themselves. They are members of a fanatic group – just like David Koresh and Osama Bin Laden. Fanatics almost always turn violent either inwardly or outwardly. I will not tolerate people who will not tolerate freedom of thought.
At the end of the day, I see intolerance in code pink, not patriotism. I see in their actions fanaticism, not Democracy. I see brutality of speech, not intelligence. I see bully tactics, not peacefulness. I see a group that the true patriots of our history would have despised.
These leftist loony Code Pink wackos aren't interested in a dialog any more than their egomaniac nut case heroine Cindy Sheehan is. It's just get in your face and scream at you! Their way or the highway! Fuck 'em all...and I say this as someone who detests Bush and thinks the Iraq war was a MAJOR blunder. The far left can frequently be as goofy as the far right though as Code Pink, Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan illustrate time after time after time!
ReplyDeleteShut up people, Condi does have blood on her hands & she didn't touch her... no assault. Its a shame there aren't more Americans willing to stand up to this horrible administration. Oh, poor poor Condi ... get help folks-
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 10:14 AM whines: "Shut up people, Condi does have blood on her hands"...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, "blood on hands" sort of like slick willie and Waco?
Or the Twin Towers?
Or Bosnia?
Or embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania?
Or the USS Cole?

Eric says:
This is just what I’m talking about. We are being instructed to “shut-up.” Obviously, as I suspected, Anonymous is either a code pink, a move-on, or a 11-year-old.
It is being said that we are not entitled to an opinion.
We are wrong.
They are right.
And no amount of talk is ever going to change that sentiment on the part of these liberals to the far left.
I said earlier, that I would not tolerate people who will not tolerate freedom of thought. And since no amount of arguing is ever going to change their ways, and since they are unable to offer anything other than “shut-up” as an argument, I say we begin using the laws that already exist, and we start handing out serious punishment for these serious offenses. I hope that this character is charged with assault. I hope she get 5 years in prison. I hope we start handing out decent jail terms for people who disrupt Congress and the business of our nation.
Anonymous is basically making an argument for anarchy and chaos.

ReplyDeleteA Nov. 15 2007 AP story indicates Chevron was fined $30M by the SEC for bribing Saddams’s thugs in the “oil for food” deal and that Chevron may face tax evasion charges later. The bribes were in the millions so someone pretty high up at Chevron had to sign off on the payments. Unfortunately the AP story did not mention Dr. Condoleezza Rice the Chevron board member and the chairman of the “Public Policy Committee” which is responsible for making sure this kind of activity does not happen.
ReplyDeleteThe Chevron website says the committee’s purposes include “identifying, evaluating and monitoring social, political and environmental trends, issues and concerns”, “analyzing how public policy trends could impact business activities and performance. Dr. Rice never discussed the Iraqi bribes on the record (not in the minutes) at company meetings. That should not surprise anyone who is familiar with her lack of response to 911 warnings.
President Clinton put sanctions on Iraq. Actions by Chevron and Rice clearly violated those sanctions and amount to treason. I urge our new Attorney General Michael Mukasey and California Attorney General Jerry Brown determine who at Chevron authorized the millions in bribes.

ReplyDeleteYou're wrong, Anon. What Desiree is doing is called verbal assault, and can be prosecuted as Assault and Battery. I know, I watched a guy do this to my father. The guy was eventually convicted and jailed.
