Halleluiah! Gore Wins Nobel Peace Prize! Planet Is Saved!!

Al Gore wins the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on global warming!

"I am deeply honored to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. "We face a true planetary emergency. The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity."
Truly, it is a spiritual challenge-
And... Al has been moved so much spiritually that he travels by private jet to spread the religion.
Already things are looking up...

The purple shaded area shows the record ice cap growth this year in Antarctica. (The Cryosphere Today)

In fact, ice cap growth in the Antarctic is at its highest level in recorded history!

The University of Illinois reported just this week:

The Southern Hemisphere sea ice area narrowly surpassed the previous historic maximum of 16.03 million sq. km to 16.17 million sq. km. The observed sea ice record in the Southern Hemisphere (1979-present) is not as long as the Northern Hemisphere. (meaning it has not been tracked as long as the North Pole) Prior to the satellite era, direct observations of the Southern Hemisphere sea ice edge were sporadic.
The Heartland Institute has much more.

Apparently, there are a few others who question this pick for the peace prize.
Democracy leader Vaclav Havel questions the selection.

Pajamas Media has a Gorian roundup on the planetary news of peace.
Michelle Malkin is following the peace news.
HotAir gives the Nobel a kick in the leg.
Powerline has the Nobel Greatest Hits.

UPDATE: Robert Mayer has a great piece on the peace prize that makes sense.

  2. On the radio this morning they interviewed some guy who sounded like the Swedish Chef on the Muppet Show. He said “we have to do something about global warming before the Earth’s climate is beyond the control of man”

Since when have we had climate control? Has be been watching too much Star Trek: TNG ?

But seriously, Arafat, a crook and terrorist, Carter, a damn fool got one for signing a treaty that was so profoundly counter-productive that it bough N.Korea time to build nukes, and Mandela, a communist who has turned his country to crap all got one.

The day that Reagan gets one is the day I will give a crap about it.

  3. The Norwegians are ruining the Peace Prize brand. Don't forget Jew-hating Mohammed Al-Baradei & the IAEA trying to give Iran the BOMB!

Jimmy Carter gets away with far more offensive comments than Coulter's about the Jews on CNN with Wolf Blitzer without a peep of protest. I think that Jimmy Carter gets away with far more offensive remarks against the Jews simply because he is a man of the Left.

There is a ginormous double standard about everything in the media----look at 30Rock mocking affirmative action and black entertainers. If it weren't Tina Fey & Alec Baldwin, but a conservative group of actors, the screams and shrieks of the hypocritical left would echo from the rooftops.

Instead, the unwatched 30Rock is the TV equivalent of Air America. As an SDS member who stayed at my Ann Arbor home [Mark Rudd had been on the cover of Time magazine the year before for a Columbia U. takeover in May, '68], said to me among other mantras:

    "No fault on the Left."

Still holds true today, as does Mark Rudd's second piece of advice to me:

"Dare to cheat, dare to win."

Anyone watching "An Inconvenient Truth" will appreciate how apropos that little aphorism remains to this day.

  4. A Peace Prize for serial liar and hate-monger Al Gore? A peace prize?? Oh well, we've known for a long time that the Nobel Committee was dominated by fools and worse.

The purple area is ALL of the sea ice
The white area is Antarctica, i.e. LAND!!!!

Accu-weather has this to say about it: This new record in the southern hemisphere is not even 1% greater than the old record maximum, and it barely sticks out on the graph of southern hemispheric sea ice area since 1979. Overall, the graph seems to show little variation since 1979. One thing I will say, the maximum sea ice area has ended up higher each year for the past 5 years.

Yasser Arafat also won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Is it just me or does the Nobel Peace Prize have nothing to do with peace?

It has nothing to do with peace. It has everythign to do with the person who did the best at pushing the LLL agenda.

    Al Gore’s inconvenient judgment

    excerpt:

[In what is a rare judicial ruling on what children can see in the class-room, Mr Justice Barton was at pains to point out that the “apocalyptic vision” presented in the film was politically partisan and not an impartial analysis of the science of climate change.

“It is plainly, as witnessed by the fact that it received an Oscar this year for best documentary film, a powerful, dramatically presented and highly professionally produced film,” he said in his ruling. “It is built around the charismatic presence of the ex-Vice-Presi-dent, Al Gore, whose crusade it now is to persuade the world of the dangers of climate change caused by global warming.

“It is now common ground that it is not simply a science film – although it is clear that it is based substantially on scientific research and opinion – but that it is a political film.”

The analysis by the judge will have a bearing on whether the Government can continue with its plan to have the film shown in every secondary school. He agreed it could be shown but on the condition that it was accompanied by new guidance notes for teachers to balance Mr Gore’s “one-sided” views.]

oh dang, forgot all about GW on Mars!!

    excerpt:

[So, beyond the Nobel Prize, what is it that Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, the United Nations, Mohamed El Baradei and Al Gore all have in common?

The flip answer is that they have all in their time pushed out enough hot air to melt the polar ice caps on Mars, and if anyone thinks that’s an exaggeration about Mars, check out this 2003 report from NASA. (Yes, it seems that even on a planet where homo sapiens has never exhaled at all, let alone fired up an SUV or hopped a longhaul airline flight, ice caps can suffer a volatile existence).

More seriously, here on planet earth, what those on the list above all have in common is that they have all in pursuit of their own ambitions pushed agendas that corrode the real basis for building a better life for all on this planet — which, in a nutshell, is freedom.]

    Mars is Melting

    thanks Claudia!! :)

From what i've read everyone feels the same about this subject. But I can't help but put my 2 cents worth in. A.) When did Al Gore become God and start controlling the climate B.) Think about it, did he really get the piece price for trying to "advertize" about global warming or did he get it because he paid off the right people. As humans when have we ever had controll of the weather? I mean c'mon give me a break. Why would anyone in their right mind give a leaching, self- centered, attention seeking looser a Nobel Prize Like Al Gore. With his pocket book you know he's splurging on all the finer things in life. If you want to give some on a Piece Prize, then why don't you go out into the REAL WORLD and look at those people that Help others. For example, What about the people that go out into their comunity and help others less fortinuate such as the homeless, or the people suffering from tradgies. Those that help others, and even though they give thier all go with out just to help the people arround them? What about all the single mothers in the world that are tired, aching, and barely get to see their kids, just because they are trying to make a living for them selves and their children. Those are the people that truly deserve the Nobel Piece Prize. It just goes to show that some people really don't give a crap about whats really going on in the world today. With that said, Grow Up! -Michaelle MacDougall (Texas)

Better question is when did Al Gore ever become "charismatic"?

Listening to him is still like watching paint dry and always has been.
