Outside the cleric's home in October of last year followers kept police a away for hours before before the regime came to take him away.
Iranian blogger Amir Farshad posted video of the arrest after the regime violently broke up the demonstrations in support of Ayatollah Boroujerdi. There were reports that 20-200 Iranians were killed by the regime during the uprising.
Not much has been reported on Ayatollah Boroujerdi since his arrest except one story that claimed he was suffering terribly and that he was sentenced to death.
Boroujerdi's only crime is that he stood up to the hardliners in the brutal Iranian regime.
Today Michael Ledeen at Pajamas Media is asking readers to sign ** this petition ** to help save Ayatollah Bourujerdi from death.
Please take a moment to save this important leader's life.
(It takes about 10 seconds of your time.)

I hear what you are saying, bg. But, the international attention may have helped a couple of Iranians who were sentenced to be stoned. The Ayatollah Boroujerdi situation deserves much more attention than it is getting.
ReplyDeleteDone.
ReplyDeleteHi bg: Below are links to a petition and some information about a campaign that did work as a result of petitions. I drafted the petition to free Ayatollah Boroujerdi because we have seen that these petitions can work. At the momoent the Iranian government is under tremendous pressure from human rights groups which is having a significant impact. We need to keep the pressure on. It will work. :)
