This Antiwar Is Lost-- Saturday Protest Turnout Fizzles

Sadly, the antiwar protests yesterday fizzled with the drizzle.
Fizzle Drizzle Bushizzle?

The turnout was down nationally.
The Boston protest was a disappointment...

The communists from ANSWER (Not to be confused with the democratic presidential candidates pushing socialism) still demand the US out of Iraq AND the dismantling of Israel. (Flickr)

This guy obviously missed this news. (Flickr)

The no blood for oil loons were there.

They must not be paying attention to the gas prices under the Pelosi-Reid Congress.

What the...?

Hijabs for peace?

In San Francisco:

The obligatory Che signs were out in support of the Marxist Revolutionary and international Leftist hero.

Code Pink wants "US out of Middle East Now!".

In San Fran they don't like the military much or the Jews.

It was a disappointing day.

Rather than rethinking their position, they will refill their hash pipes....or prosac prescriptions. No change for the nutroots.

A tour of the usual suspects on the left reveals either false pumping up the volume of the "successful accomplishment" or brow beating the masses for their non participation or more so listening to the crickets chirp.

Then everyone went off to a public toilet to look for a wide stance.

  5. These people only march to validate their miserable lifestyle - along the lines of sure, I made a pass a the babysitter, but I BELIEVE in World Peace... so I can't be a total loser

in my hometown paper the Sacramento Bee, the story of the protest in SF was crammed at the bottom of page A10 with about 100 words devoted to it, below a much larger article about how Iraqis had recently taken control of Karbala province from coalition forces.

as some are wont to say: heh.

And the pro-war demonstrations garnered ... how many? A few dozen guys standing around waving Israeli flags.

I loved however the initial AP headlines breathlessly reporting "thousands" marching for a swift end to the war. The turnout was so pathetic is was kind of sad. The logic is priceless: a few thousand hyperzealous morons march through the streets carrying obnoxious signs and the rest some odd 300 million of us are just going to change our views.

Here in Seattle, they scraped every barrel they could find, and got participants from all over the state. Total turnout? A bit upwards of 2,000.

These folks just need a hug, dontcha think? *I* wouldn't hug them, but that's certainly what they need, no question.

It always amazes me how stupid and naive these people are an how readily they fall for simplistic slogans. Like that 'Stop the war on Iraq' poster. The war on Iraq stopped years ago; as soon as Saddam was deposed we were no longer at war with the nation of Iraq. Now we are allied with the democratic government of Iraq, and are engaged in a war on various violent Islamist groups and genocidal sectarian militias. That's not a war on Iraq, it's a war for Iraq.

The only way that sign makes sense is if you believe AQI and it's Islamic State of Iraq or one of the militias is Iraq's real legitimate government. Either they're too stupid to grasp the repugnant implications of that sign, or they're something much worse...

    BEAR, comment#1,

I take Prozac. It has helped me survive a crushing depression.

However, it still hasn't made me into a left-wing nutjob.

Yup, but where would you find a Gorilla with no sense of smell, or a python with no sense of taste?

Thanx for the correction, SCOTT. Maybe prozac can help the nutroots survive the depression of just being themselves? No offence intended to you or the drug.

How many antiwar protestors do you see when there's no conflict going on? Not many, I imagine.
