Leftists Force Horowitz From Stage-- Shut Down Free Speech at Emory!!!

UPDATES--UPDATES--- Check back for updates.

DAVID HOROWITZ WAS FORCED FROM THE STAGE AT EMORY UNIVERSITY!

Here are the final moments of the Horowitz talk tonight at Emory...
Before they shut it down:

Liveblogging at Emory University...

This is going to be a blowout!
The crowd is at capacity and is 80-90% protesters!
Chance that this crowd will not erupt... 0%.

The students have signs on their backs and are planning on standing with their back to David Horowitz.

The United for Peace and Justice crowd started to gather in the lobby around 7:00 PM.

Veterans for Peace showed up with their billboards of dead children. The veteran was interviewed with the camera crew that was there working with Incorrect U.

David Horowitz is introduced...

Emory shows respect. The booing started when he walked on the stage and the interruptions lasted until the talk was cancelled.

The Emory crowd stood one by one with their backs to David Horowitz.
The communists fell into line- Horowitz just pegged them but was having a hard time with the interruptions that were constant.
There were continuous outbursts coming from this crowd.

Finally a member of the university security staff told the crowd to sit down or they would be forcibly escorted out of the building.

You know what happened next... The place erupted.
Video and pictures to follow.
It was shameful.

Anybody think we can get past the Islamovictimism here so's we can actually discuss Islamofascism in the Middle East?

  2. west,

We already are. Take a look at that picture of the SorosStooges(TM) standing up with backs to the stage. How many of them are there? What percentage of the audience?

Now remember that they are in the belly of the LLL Islamofascist loving beast called academia.

If they can not get more people then that to "protest" despite the urgings of the administration, faculty, the nutroots and media (both MSM and it's puppy farm student papers) there are more people listening and discussing this then even the SorosStooges(TM) think. There will be even more after this because the folks who were brave enough to come out and hear these speakers will go and talk to their friends and relatives about what they heard. Ya never know, even the catcallers may have some of it soak in and start thinking for themselves.

Always remember it is the small dog that barks the most, hun. And, as the rather pitiful numbers of peacelovedove hippie Islamofascist loving SorosStooges at these events show that the American people have had their discussion on this. They have decided that the Islamofascists are not what the LLL's CAIR want us to think they are.

All you have to do is look at what is going on. Despite the best, spare no expense efforts of the MSM/Hollywood, the LLL's, The Democrats and the SorosStooge "protesters" have not been able to change public opinion more then maybe 1-2%. The armed forces are meeting/exceeding their recruitment goals. The hemorrhaging of readership/viewership of the MSM/Hollywood will soon start bankrupting those "institutions". Hell, even Code Pink can not drum up enough help to outnumber the counter protesters at their attempt of running off the Marine Corps recruiters in Berkeley. Politically despite their best efforts there is no way they can put enough lipstick on the pig pen that is running for President on the Democratic side. And, despite their best efforts, they have not managed to run off men like Giulilani, Romney or Thompson who they know full well that if they get the GOP nomination there is no way Hillary or any of the other Dems would win.

  3. First - left these leftist goons and terror apologists cite some examples of similar treatment when liberal speakers come to bash conservatives on campus.

Second - if they don't like it, they don't have to show up, do they?

They're simply there to stifle debate, speech and to intimidate.

In other words, the modern 'liberal' MO for 'free speech.'

  4. The short guy standing in the lower right with the orange shirt was my roommate last year. Needless to say, my roommate this year does not have a high opinion of him.

I was there. It was sad. The so called peace lovers showed their true colors by shutting down free speech and discourse as their fascist brothers have done in so many parts of the world. I asked one what was the deference between what he was doing and burning books. He spoke but never answered my question.

These people are not Islamoactivists, I'll tell you that. If they were, they wouldn't all be against the war in Iraq to help millions of Muslims enjoy a better life.

They are a bunch of college jerks whose parents were hippies from the 60's. They have no sense of dignity, historical context or appropriateness.

Aren't these the same people who SWEAR by their freedom of speech? Or are they a bunch of communists who want to shut everyone else up and run the show.

    Yep, that's what I thought. They're commies.

  7. But aren't progressives defined by openess to other's ideas? What a bunch of hypocrites. It is they that behave in a totalitarian manner.

  8. Hmmm, so where the hell was campus security to stop these assaults?

    Malfeasance anyone?

Any suggestions for a congress critter who could present a resolution condemning the schools for the student body suppression of free speech?

  11. The Nazi brownshirts infest Emory and the world yawns.....

Kudos to David Horowitz for showing the beast in all its terrible reality. Free speech and free assembly are, of course, not part of the Islam, or the Sorso paid political whores such as MadameDurfarge..er.Hillary, or academia. Any guesses how the NYTimes covers this or rather ignores this Constitutional trampling?

  12. The Islamofascists and SorosStooges proved what David Horowitz and others have said about the Islamofascists and their LLL/Democrat allies is right.

They could not argue their positions nor could they defend them so like the good little fascists they are they did every thing they could to run him off.

But it is all ok. Why? Because people are seeing that these "protesters" for exactly who and what they are. Fascists.

There will be some good that will come from this if people push for it. Seeing as the administration of this university obviously supports the actions of these fascists then all government funding should be pulled from them. They have a right to be fascist thugs, I have the right not to see one penny of my tax dollars go to support them in any way, shape or form. And that includes student loans.

Just to let you guys know, 95% or more of those being disruptive were NOT EMORY STUDENTS but members of the Atlanta chapter of the Revolutionary Community Youth Brigade - though oddly enough, most of them were middle-aged and not "youthful" at all. The event was open to the public and many were not connected to Emory whatsoever but rather were just agitators from the metro Atlanta area. It's unfair to blame Emory or the Emory student body. Watch the video again and look at the pictures. These are middle-aged individuals - not college students

  15. Am I the only one that is about ready to get medieval on these fools?

Seriously, a few beat downs by the regular folks and this would stop.

They are trampling over the rights our forefathers fought and died for. Maybe we should be willing to fight for them too.

So what? Emory allowed and possibly encourged this to happen. Emory turned a blind eye to radical scum who invaded their campus. Did Emory check student ID's or arrest the disturbers? NO!

Is their anything more disgusting in free society than institutional moral cowardness of Emory and the rest of the politically correct, Constitutionally challanged academia?

"So what? Emory allowed and possibly encourged this to happen. Emory turned a blind eye to radical scum who invaded their campus. Did Emory check student ID's or arrest the disturbers? NO!"

actually, they let in only people with student IDs in first, in case there wasn't enough seating. however, people without student IDs were allowed because there were several local Horowitz supporters who wanted to hear him speak and who weren't affiliated with the University.

i would also argue that the Emory community did NOT turn a blind eye to the inappropriate actions of the Communists either. Many students (several of whom disagree with most of Horowitz' viewpoints) approached the College Republicans who co-ordinated the event and expressed their embarrassment and disgust towards the behavior of the members of the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade. additionally, the Emory administrators published an article earlier in "The Wheel" defending their decision to allow Horowitz after several students published articles against having Horowitz at Emory (most of which were poorly written).

the cops were not called because it would have probably made Emory look "fascist," no matter how justified the cops were (which is sad). not having the cops drag the senile members of the RCYB helped to show Horowitz and his supporters as the more rational and tolerant side.

I was in attendence and I actually go to Emory and knew most of the students in attendence. Although most of them disliked Horowitz, EVERY one of them wanted to hear what he had to say and was not shouting while Horowitz was speaking. The event should have been for Emory students only. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I too am an Emory student and was in attendance. Like the few before me, I wanted to hear what Horowitz had to say and was disgusted by the intolerance shown by the protesters.

Not only were they not Emory students, but Emory students, most of whom did not agree with Horowitz, were leading the chorus of arguments against the protesters during Horowitz's abrupt and unfortunate departure.

Moreover, it is regrettable that Horowitz left the stage as the sane, reasonable one while the protesters looked like the ignorant fascists they were declaiming.

The Emory administration in no way supported this. It was the College Republicans who checked IDs and let in the public afterwards because they wanted to encourage an open debate. As said before, the police wanted to intervene but they could only drag people out which was just what the protesters wanted. When it got out of hand, they did announce that everyone standing up would be forcibly removed, but that just escalated it to the point where Horowitz had to leave.

C'mon...we need to think smarter than this. The most effective way to get the intended point across?? Be the enemy, literally. Walk out on stage in islamist dress, then say NOTHING other than recite quotes from the radical islamists themselves about all things that the lefties hold dear. Even better, a web demo trolling through the worst islamist sites out there should suffice. Why haven't this been done already?? DUH. The irony of being confronted with the islamists words themselves will gnaw at the sane lefties, and make the loonie ones look ridiculous... And all you're doing is saying "these are not my words--if you have a problem with these words, argue with those who uttered them."
