"But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement."A NEW ALL-TIME LOW FOR DEMOCRATS!!
Video via National Republican Congressional Committee and HotAir
Here's more from Democrat Pete Stark:
"They sure don't care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you're telling us today? Is that how you're going to fund the war? You don't have money to fund the war or children but you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement."Can the democrats possibly stoop any nastier?
The House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) just issued a statement, via The Drudge Report:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 18, 2007Michelle Malkin has more reaction from the GOP House Leadership.
CONTACTS: Brian Kennedy, Kevin Smith, Steve Forde Ð (202) 225-4000
WASHINGTON, D.C. Ð today issued the following statement regarding remarks made on the House floor by Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) during the debate on the State ChildrenÕs Health Insurance Program (SCHIP):
"Our troops in Iraq are fighting against al-Qaeda and other radical jihadists hellbent on killing the people we are sent here to represent. Congressman StarkÕs statement dishonors not only the Commander-in-Chief, but the thousands of courageous men and women of AmericaÕs armed forces who believe in their mission and are putting their lives on the line for our freedom and security. Congressman Stark should retract his statement and apologize to the House, our Commander-in-Chief, and the families of our soldiers and commanders fighting terror overseas."
During debate on the SCHIP children's health care legislation today, Rep. Stark stated: "You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement."
UPDATE: Republican Whip Roy Blunt also released a statement on Stark's outrageous remarks.
Here's another link to Video of Stark's shameful anti-military remarks.
UPDATE 2: Pete Stark thanks Crazy Daily Kos!
The answer to your question is "No."
ReplyDeleteJohn Boehner's statement demanding an apology is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! Every "decent" human being left in Congress should be DEMANDING his resignation IMMEDIATELY!!! There is no excuse for this in the government of the United States. Get him out!! NOW!!
ReplyDeleteThat is STARK's resignation...I'm so mad I I am seeing red!
ReplyDeleteCan the democrats possibly get any nastier?
ReplyDeleteYes. They are just getting warmed up. Wait until about this time next year.
But, the thing is that they do not understand just how much they are alienating the country. They live in a gated community of the mind where they think that everyone thinks just like the LLL anti American war criminal totalitarian who owns the party and his minions, the fools in the MSM and Hollywood or academia.
They are in for a rather large surprise.
Plus I do not think they realize that the GOP won't need Karl Rove. The Democrats are laying the basis for ad campaigns that will make them into losers 13 months from now except in their gated communities of the mind.
What a piece of human filth.
ReplyDeleteDo you really think this is lower than a member of congress who assaults a capitol hill guard for doing his job and then complains that the guards are racist when the issue blows up in her face?
ReplyDeleteNah, the Dems have stooped lower dozens of times. This guy just slipped up and said what (I suspect) most of the Dems in congress think these days.
Now I know where the term Stark Raving Mad comes from.
ReplyDeleteLook for Stark to suffer no consequences for his behavior. He simply said what a great many of fellow lefties believe.
++
ReplyDeletei simply can't seem to find the words to describe these so called "representatives" of "we the people".. are they truly "representative" of what "we the people" have become??
albeit convoluted, like the militant jihadists, the Dems prefer the death of a President over the life of a Nation.. so yes, the Dems can & will sink lower, much much lower.. *sigh*

"D-California"
ReplyDeleteWhat else do you need to know?
When did the practice of giving anyone with a (D) behind their name the right to say any damn thing they want without repercussions? Someone please tell me why it is that we now have to tolerate such incivility from the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the D's get their Fairness Doctrine passed then a Republican can stand up and call Nancy Pelosi a POS?
Stark has one of those constituencies which eats up any kind of madness---they are the entitlement generation, yet their fatuous philosophies of self-indulgent narcissism are not running the country, except in the MSM/Hollyweird bi-coast mass psychosis.
ReplyDeleteStark represents the resentment Dems, who believe they are entitled to flaunt the constitution ["illegal war" that Stark Raver mentions was voted by Congress] and make up facts to fit their hallucinatory fantasies.
I really hope that Pelosi, with her massive 11% poll support behind what Congress is doing, does start an impeachment move.
The MSM will pass on this, but if Rush makes a statement subject to misinterpretation on a radio show, the MSM is on it like a cheap suit.
Bid on letter to Rush by Dingy Harry is now $851,000 with day-and-a-half left.
This guy Stark makes people who feel angry and people who think laugh---I'm in both camps.
It's always fun to visit blogs like this and see just how delusional the reich wing is. Let's go over some figures, OK? Opposition to war among public at 70 percent. Bush at 24 percent. It's now abundantly clear the Iraq war is the greatest foreign policy blunder in American history, and that it was started on a pack of lies for the oil.
ReplyDeleteSo go ahead, wingnuts, keep running on the same platfom of Rush-Hannity-O'Lielly bloviating and fake macho posturing. You'll go down in flames in 2008 just like you did in 2006, and the entire neocon movement will be sent to the historical dustbin it deserves.
Pete Stark spoke truth to power today. That hurts you, I know, because EVERYTHING YOU THINK YOU KNOW IS A LIE, fed to you by the reich-wing slime machine that's been getting the middle class to vote against its own best interests since 1980.
It's now abundantly clear the Iraq war is the greatest foreign policy blunder in American history, and that it was started on a pack of lies for the oil.
ReplyDeleteYou sir, are a fool.
From CNN, Aug 5, 2007:
"Despite claims by some critics that the Bush administration invaded Iraq to take control of its oil, the first contracts with major oil firms from Iraq's new government are likely to go not to U.S. companies, but rather to companies from China, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia."
It's always fun to see some fact-shy leftist come in, too afraid to use his/her own name, and spout the standard Code Pink party line.
"You'll go down in flames in 2008 just like you did in 2006"
It might be best for our country if the Dems DO control Congress and the executive. After 4 years of nanny-state nonsense and no response to attacks on our allies and assets, it'll be another 3 decades before the public dares to elect another Dem president. It's happened that way in the past. Sometimes, the US public needs to be reminded just how dangerous it is, to allow a group which believes that feeling good trumps logic, to run our nation.
If you think Stark spoke the truth, rather than an unhinged rant unrelated to the topic at hand, no one should ever grant anything you say any credibility. Oh wait, when Conservatives point out FACTUAL liberal lies/misrepresentation, we 'hate children'. When Liberals do it, it's "shouting truth to power".
How's the weather on planet Hypocrisy Alpha today? Slight breezes with a bitter taste? Sad.
What a curious forum. There's only one mind with hundreds of voices. Why not just talk while staring at a mirror?
ReplyDeleteRegards.
Regarding the War on Iraq and Oil:
ReplyDelete"It's always fun to see some fact-shy leftist come in, too afraid to use his/her own name, and spout the standard Code Pink party line."
Why quote a CNN article that was wrong? It seems you prefer your fantasy to actual fact.
Here's the fact. On September 9th, 2007 Hunt Oil of Texas signed a contract with the Kurdish regional government. Interestingly, Ron Hunt, a friend and an adviser to the President, has bet against Bush's call for oil revenue sharing.
Clearly, you never had the advantage of attending a Liberal Arts College.
Kindest Regards

Ah the brave anonymous trolls are back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a curious forum. There's only one mind with hundreds of voices. Why not just talk while staring at a mirror?
You shouldn't talk about Kos/DU/PuffHo/FDL like that. You will hurt their "self esteem". After all, they are so concerned about their widdle "self esteem" that they ban anyone who doesn't parrot what all the others are saying.
On forums such as this you better bring facts and be able to argue your position or face the clue bat. That is why children like yourself are oh-so brave to mimic a pidgeon. You come on this board, drop your stupid little shite and then fly away when the clue bat comes out.
I do have to laugh at sad little children like you, though. You think your are so much more intelligent then everyone else but every time you post you prove without a doubt how ignorant you are.
Clearly, you never had the advantage of attending a Liberal Arts College.
An MA from the University of Minnesota good enough for you, bozo? The only thing you learn at a "liberal arts" college is how to BS other liberals. Well that and how to make it through college writing papers for professors that may not be factual but reinforce the faculty world view. They are not concerned with you learning anything, they are only concerned that you are properly indoctrinated.

ReplyDeleteleftist trolls & facts
know not a one, none at all
simply rhetoric

Why do you guys keep saying stuff like "It's actions like this that alienate the country from Democrats"?
ReplyDeleteDo you not understand just how often the country is on the Democrats' side? Do you not read polls? And I'm not talking about close ones either.
Congress's poll numbers are low BECAUSE we're still at war. The SCHIP bill is hugely popular. Bush is a poll joke. The Republicans in Congress have lower numbers in the Democrats.
Why not be honest that the country just doesn't like the politics of conservatism? If it did, choice (you know that thing that so much of the country supports) would be illegal and women wouldn't be voting. Because all be damned if we're changing in this country for the better.

ReplyDeleteboy oh boy, Joshua is pulling quips out of his socks as fast as SandyBergerSqaurePants put archived documents in his tonight!! :D

After the SCHIP veto, Katrina, the Iraq War, etc., will the GOP get any votes at all in 2008 aside from the nutjobs reading this blog?
ReplyDeleteWell Pete Stark has a track record of saying and doing stupid things...
ReplyDeleteStarkism 1
Starkism 2
Starkism 3
Starkism 4
Anonymous @ 4:14 AM whined: "After the SCHIP veto, Katrina, the Iraq War, etc., will the GOP get any votes at all in 2008 aside from the nutjobs reading this blog?"...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, do you enjoy looking like a complete fool or do you even understand that you are a complete fool?

ReplyDeletewell, Wrangle spoke out against Stark.. says he should be "admonished".. iow: another Dem gets another free pass.. gah!!
there, that's better.. ;)

Mr. Stark said what a lot of people are thinking. Those of you calling for his resignation need to get your head out of the sand.
ReplyDeleteBush and his cronies are a lying bunch of morons. I hope that those of you who voted for him are happy. You should all be ashamed.
