Republican Presidential Primary Debate on FOX News

FOX News held the GOP Presidential debate tonight from Florida.

Republican presidential candidates (L-R) former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) and U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) gather onstage prior to the Republican Party of Florida and Fox News Channel debate in Orlando, Florida October 21, 2007. Powerline says Romney was solid.

John McCain got a standing ovation for his military record and this line:

"Hillary tried to get a million dollars for the Woodstock museum. I understand it was a major cultural and pharmaceutical event. I couldn't attend. I was tied up at the time."
Here is Senator McCain on Hillary:

It was good to see the crowd show their appreciation for this war hero's service, something that you would unlikely see if this was a democratic presidential primary debate.

The FOX News pilot group overwhelmingly chose Rudy Giuliani as the winner of this debate pointing to his clear and confident message.
And, of course, the FOX News text poll had Ron Paul as the winner.

  2. I don't know about the rest of you but none of these so called, "top tier" candidates has shown me even a hint of a reason to vote for them...

BTW the phrase, 'top tier' is an MSM construct right?

Why should these people viewed as top tier actually be considered top tier? Serious question since maybe the only reason these alledged top tier candidates are garnering donations is due to what is foisted off as news in the MSM sphere...

BTW Huckabee isn't even top tier, second, third, or even tenth tier as Republicans go... He's a nanny state SOCIALIST of the worst sort...

As the advert from the Club for Growth asks: Bill Clinton or Mike Hucabee?

  3. juandos, that's probably why he doesn't have any better chance than Ron Paul of actually winning the nomination.

  4. I personally thought this was by far the best debate. It was quite lively with most of candidates doing a great job. I don't think, in my opinion at least, that there was a clear winner. I think that everything will remain the same going forward with Rudy continuing to lead. Here is how I saw it...
