ReplyDeleteHowever, for totally different reasons from these liberals, I'm very concerned about an event getting this much notoriety calling itself "Islamofacism Awareness Week". I'm for victory in the war on terror, these libs are against it.
I think the tape of Osama bin Laden and his letter to the Iraqi people shows that terminology matters. He is desperately struggling to persuade Iraqis to side with Muslims over the U.S., which is tempting in an of itself, and if bin Laden can control the violence against civilians and rally attacks on the U.S. instead, a horribly wrong turn for us will be made in the war.
If we, both Osama and us, call terrorists Jihadis, we are painting ourselves into a corner because Muslims are more likely to choose what they think is Jihad over us. We have to call it what it is: terrorism. There's already a huge movement in the Muslim world doing just that and we're idiots if we don't take advantage of it.
