Who Knew?... Mel Martinez Was RNC Chair... And, Now He's Not

Wow! This is freakie...
Mel Martinez was RNC Chair!
And, now he's stepping down.
Weird.

(L-R) US Senators Mel Martinez, Lindsey Graham and Ted Kennedy arrive for a news conference to announce a compromise on immigration legislation between the White House and the Senate.(AFP)

Lets hope the next RNC Chair understands that you don't win over conservative voters by chumming up with Teddy Kennedy (on any piece of legislation that has anything to do with immigration).

Mel Martinez- we hardly knew you.
Which is too bad. The RNC could use someone a little more open to the alternative media.

  1. Down here in Florida you wouldn't know Mel is our Senator. He won't answer call or talk to any of the media in Florida. The day he got elected he became a Washington elite.

I just hope his constituents remember what a p$&* poor representative he has been.

  2. Got a call from the RNC for a pledge. Told them if they didn't get rid of the RINOs there would be no more money. I'm not into Democrat Lite. They're still out looking for their spine.

This is a good development; he was never a wise choice for this position and I believe he was a factor in Republican woes this past election cycle. As I remember, he was also the preferred choice of Republican elites to be Florida's Republican nominee for senator when he was elected. It was terrible that the party elites pushed their choice onto the party; this attitude hurt the party nation-wide.
