Who Really Sufffers From "Gore Derangement Syndrome"?

GDS Strikes the NYT.
Global warming hysteria apologist, Paul Krugman continues his paranoia and projection today in his article on "Gore Derangement Syndrome".
Memeorandum links to the article:

On the day after Al Gore shared the Nobel Peace Prize, The Wall Street Journal’s editors couldn’t even bring themselves to mention Mr. Gore’s name. Instead, they devoted their editorial to a long list of people they thought deserved the prize more.

And at National Review Online, Iain Murray suggested that the prize should have been shared with “that well-known peace campaigner Osama bin Laden, who implicitly endorsed Gore’s stance.” You see, bin Laden once said something about climate change — therefore, anyone who talks about climate change is a friend of the terrorists.

What is it about Mr. Gore that drives right-wingers insane?

Partly it’s a reaction to what happened in 2000, when the American people chose Mr. Gore but his opponent somehow ended up in the White House. Both the personality cult the right tried to build around President Bush and the often hysterical denigration of Mr. Gore were, I believe, largely motivated by the desire to expunge the stain of illegitimacy from the Bush administration.
Honestly!... It's pretty obvious who really suffers from Gore Derangement Syndrome.
Maybe Krugman is the one missing the fact that Al Gore's message of hysteria is seriously flawed?

James Taylor a Senior Fellow from the Heartland Institute reported on the record ice cap growth in Antarctica last week. The purple shaded area shows the record ice cap growth this year in Antarctica.

In fact, University of Illinois website The Cryosphere Today shows that the ice cap growth in the Antarctic is at its highest level in recorded history this year!

Also, a judge (suffering from GDS, no doubt) in Great Britain pointed out the serious flaws in Gore's hysterical film last week.

But... according to Krugman, to question Gore about his facts you must suffer from GDS or, better yet, you must be reacting to the election results in 2000.
It's pretty obvious who really has the GDS.

MORE GORE... Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, blasts Gore for his junk science.

Likewise, the Al Gore Nobel may leave a lasting scare on those too young to vote now, if in 10 to 15 years "global cooling" begins.

Just where do you think their cynicism will be directed as they cast their first votes.

ps: someone needs to ask Al "he played on our fears" Gore why he hasn't mentioned Mars Is Melting..

    A Convenient Prize

    excerpt:

[So, beyond the Nobel Prize, what is it that Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, the United Nations, Mohamed El Baradei and Al Gore all have in common?

The flip answer is that they have all in their time pushed out enough hot air to melt the polar ice caps on Mars, and if anyone thinks that's an exaggeration about Mars, check out this 2003 report from NASA. (Yes, it seems that even on a planet where homo sapiens has never exhaled at all, let alone fired up an SUV or hopped a longhaul airline flight, ice caps can suffer a volatile existence).

More seriously, here on planet earth, what those on the list above all have in common is that they have all in pursuit of their own ambitions pushed agendas that corrode the real basis for building a better life for all on this planet — which, in a nutshell, is freedom.]

  4. Nothing new here. I see this from the left all the time. Sometimes it comes in a pre-emptory fashion, sometimes after the fact.

Unable to come up with something new, they grab a popular conservative catch phrase, and turn it around. . .usually inappropriately.

Perhaps Krugman needs to consider that what he's calling GDS is nothing more than the same criticisms thinking people have had of him since he started his silly global warming song and dance.

For the record, I am an American person. . .one of many American people, and I didn't choose Gore. Fortunately, neither did the electoral college. I love the whole 'stain of illegitimacy' meme, when you dig to the base of it, is actually a symptom of the left's sudden discontent with the fact that as always it's the electoral college that elects Presidents. . .not the popular vote.

What a disingenuous idiot this Krugman is. He still can't get over the 2000 election, 7 years later! Whining about how the electoral college works after the fact is babyish.

Nevermind that he had a second chance in 2004, and Bush actually got a lot more votes - a majority. So getting a majority of the popular vote is no longer important in 2004, just in 2000, eh?

One thing I like about Gore is that he is the very first person to make a case that Saddam Hussein should be removed due to terror ties - back in 1992.
