Chavista Thugs Shoot Students!

Gunmen opened fire on students returning from a march Wednesday in which 80,000 people denounced President Hugo Chavez's attempts to expand his power. Shots were fired during clashes where at least eight people were injured, including one by gunfire, officials said. (AP Photo/Gregorio Marrerro)

Venezuela News and Views covered the whole bloody story, including this:

See, this hooded chavista thug shooting unarmed students is the perfect symbol of what the new constitution will allow Chavez to do with Venezuela: establish a totalitarian state. How many more pictures we will need to post, how many students will have to be killed until finally someone notices and says it aloud where ti matters?

Next to the pictures of the students being shot, you should post Chavez's Hollywood friends with their arms around him.
It's one thing not to be educated and it's another thing to be just plain stupid.
How do they even try to justify their support of dictators? They have no idea what it means to struggle against a regime that is prepared to use violence to suppress the population.
Instead of supporting the struggle for self determination and dignity of all people around the world, they continue to support bloody dictators and instead of supporting the people who are risking everything, they continue to fight against the very force used to combat terrorist regimes.
Beauty fades but stupid is forever.
    Take note America.

"It's one thing not to be educated and it's another thing to be just plain stupid."

I don't think Chavez's glitterati supporters are stupid. They may be naive, but they support his revolution and would like to see the same kind of government take hold in the United States. Nationalized industries, profits confiscated from "evil" corporate types and redistributed to "the poor", national health care, socialist indoctrination in education, condemnation of "American Imperialism", and speech controls to stifle dissent. How is Chavez's Venezuela different from what the Democrat party would like to achieve in the United States?

Leftists in the USA supported Stalin even when it was clear that he was a mass murderer worse than Hitler. Leftists in the USA supported the brutality of the NVA against American soldiers. When our boys were in the Hanoi Hilton being tortured, Jane Fonda and her hollywood/Democrat buddies were on the side of the people administering the torture. Same as it ever was.

  3. It's interesting to me that all these Chavistas are armed with pistols, and not the ubiquitous AK-47's.

No real point to that statement, it's just that when I see oppression in the news, I'm used to seeing the AK-47 along for the ride like potato salad at a picnic.

Unfortunately, this won't generate the kind of political outrage that the Burma situation did when protesters were fired on there. Cleverly and despicably, Chavez is using surrogates rather than government troops to do his shooting for him.

I haven't read much yet about these latest shootings, but the Chavistas were certainly using rifles in previous incidents. (Isn't it "interesting" how American progressives keep supporting thugs like Chavez? You'd almost think the thuggishness was a plus.)

Ah yes, all of this from Chavez, and somehow we're to believe that Bush is the REAL dictator, not this wannabe Castro from South America.

  10. Not that it makes a bit of difference, but all of this is not a surprise to our Government. Yet they (so far) have done little, including really critical comments about Chavez and his new revolution.

Maybe a certain number of people need to be murdered for Bush and Co to send the innocents some actual help.

Help you say, what kind. The kind with "green faces", is the kind of help I'm talking about.

But I guess that everyone thinks that our military is over extended and that we would only make it worse.

We have access to thousands of AKs and Ammo. A few could teach many how to use them.
