The two human rights activists condemned Western women for their silence on the plight of women in the Middle East.
Manda Zand Ervin also discussed how one women's group, Code Pink, actually took a photo of Iranian women activists and made it look like the women were protesting against America, when they were protesting the brutal Iranian regime.
Before- The original photo from a women's rights protest in Tehran:

After- The perversion of the photo by Code Pink:

Free Republic reported:
"The young woman in center of the photograph is holding a white sheet in her hand that reads: “We are the children of Cyrus, the pioneers of human rights,” not JOIN US. Also the girl, on the right holding the large sign was not a part of this demonstration; she is yet from another photo taken last year at the Tehran University sit-in that was in protest against the Islamic Regime paramilitary stations around the University campus. Her sign in the original picture read: “This space belongs to us”, not HOW MANY LIVES PER GALLON?The Alliance of Iranian Women protested Code Pink for distorting the legitimate struggle of Iranian women.
I am glad you share this with the world. It really bothers me as a human being trying to fight for women rights around the world but for Iranian women to give them a voice like so much deserve and then to see an organization such as Code Pink do this..it set us back. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Iran...may we all have a voice soon!
ReplyDeleteThe women's movement has been dead since bj clinton took office. There is no atrocity against women that can't be set aside to further the "feminists'" socialist agenda. Women around the world had no way of knowing how phony NOW was, and is. Just as the Israelis got to watch hillary smootch with yessir arafat's wife, women blythely copy the slave-wear of islamic females for the sake of fashion. Apparently honor killings, forced suicide and genital mutilation are next on the fashion front, since women here don't regard brutality against women a viable issue. Way to go, code pink.
ReplyDeleteActually, it was dead before Clinton became President, it's just that many didn't notice until then. Or, more accurately, I should say that its domination by fascist-like factions began in the early 70's.
ReplyDeleteIt is telling that in addition to the other alterations of the photo, the most prominent subject in the original image had her mouth closed; forcibly twisted into a Joker like smile.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your brave post - may there be angels about you and protect you!
ReplyDeleteThere is never a reason to treat any human like some animal. We are all perfectly, fearfully and wonderfully made!
