What the economists are seemingly ready to forget or are not actually paying attention to is that there really is no overriding reason for the Chinese leaders (not the Chinese economy here) to change their currency model...
They are after all Marxists so as Marxists common sense economics and a real, free market mean less to them than to the average economist (I'm NOT including Krugman in this crowd of economists)...
Since the majority of the politicos in the House and Senate in our own country seem to exhibit more than a bit of the closet socialist themselves, what possible reason could they have to pay attention to the common sense coming from economists?
After all many of them are voted into office by folks who don't have any clue to what basic economics is and have even less desire to learn...
