Beauchamp Recants his bogus anti-military stories!
Michelle Malkin and Michael Goldfarb at The Weekly Standard Blog report:
THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned from a military source close to the investigation that Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp--author of the much-disputed "Shock Troops" article in the New Republic's July 23 issue as well as two previous "Baghdad Diarist" columns--signed a sworn statement admitting that all three articles he published in the New Republic were exaggerations and falsehoods--fabrications containing only "a smidgen of truth," in the words of our source. And with this admission, The New Republic's credibility goes up in flames!

I was not able to follow the developments to the atrocious military-bashing stories published at The New Republic this past week but several others were on top of the awful soldier fables:
Confederate Yankee reported on the attempted cover-up by TNR.
Today, the army responded to the TNR reports.
And, Democracy Project has this- "In ordinary life, lying is immoral. In the military, in addition to being immoral it is dishonorable."
Matt Sanchez reports that: "The 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division has concluded that the allegations made by Private Thomas Scott Beauchamp, the "Baghdad Diarist", have been refuted by members of his platoon and proven to be false.
Bryan at HotAir has a roundup.
Jeff Goldstein analyses the Beauchamp semiotics.
Ace of Spades starts the tongue lashings.

The shameless attempts by the lefty, anti-American press to cover-up and deny their own pro-terrorist propaganda faux pas's is reminiscent of clinton's foolish "I did not have sex with that woman" finger-pointing, followed by -- What DNA?.....sheesh.
ReplyDeleteWhat they will see when they read this story:
ReplyDelete"Blah blah blah... a smidgen of truth...blah blah blah"
The conclusion they will draw:
There was truth there after all. Those wingnuts just can't handle reality.
A few of the less brain dead will realize that they have hitched their wagon to a tree stump and use the F.B.A. defense. I have already seen a comment somewhere to the effect of: "Why are you neocons making so much of this one soldier" with not a hint of irony realization.
Let's remember that this is the same left-wing media machine that brought you "fake but accurate" news in an attempt to swing an election. I'd stand by to see more of this, rather (sorry) than less.

ReplyDeleteSnake Oil Baron ..
even more embarrassing for them is when they learn that the "Smidgen of Truth" is that STB not only made it all up, but most of what he made up was about STB.. aah, writers block, it's a vicious cycle.. :D

Well there's no doubt that snake oil baron has no sense of shame but that fits glove in hand with his apparent lack of sense...
