Boulder High School Marxists Offer Alternative Pledge

Slapstick has the story of these young brainwashed socialists in Boulder.
Here's their pledge:

"I pledge of allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights with which it comes. And to the diversity, in which our nation stands, one nation, part of one planet, with liberty, freedom, choice and justice for all."
No socialist left behind.

    Short Critique:

Flags don't "come" with constitutional rights, but they may "stand" for them.

In what "diversity" does our nation stand? The weather? Hair color?

"...part of one planet..." Not two, three or four? 2nd graders.

What "Choice?" To follow the constitution or not? Abort babies or not? Eat meat or not?

That was written by college students?

  2. It makes you wonder what they are teaching these kids?
How to protest? Hate your country? Be Marxists? ...What?

That is a pledge of allegiance to nothing.

Let's not forget that the author of original pledge, Francis Bellamy, was a socialist.

"I pledge of allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights with which it comes."

The (C)onstitutional rights get a pledge of allegiance, but not the obligations. Interesting.

    The Pledge of Allegiance
    A Short History

    excerpt:

[Francis Bellamy (1855 - 1931), a Baptist minister, wrote the original Pledge in August 1892. He was a Christian Socialist. In his Pledge, he is expressing the ideas of his first cousin, Edward Bellamy, author of the American socialist utopian novels, Looking Backward (1888) and Equality (1897).

Francis Bellamy in his sermons and lectures and Edward Bellamy in his novels and articles described in detail how the middle class could create a planned economy with political, social and economic equality for all. The government would run a peace time economy similar to our present military industrial complex.]

I'm a fairly average Boulder High student. I'm not a marxist, and the kids that wrote the "new" pledge (which I honestly think sounds stupid) aren't marxists either. I do think "under God" should be removed from the pledge though.

Why must you hate on us so, right-wingers?
