12 Iranian labor leaders were sentenced to 91 days in jail and 10 lashes for holding a union rally on May Day last year.
The sham human rights group Amnesty International again attacked the United States along with Russia and China in its annual report.
Bloomberg reported:
The U.S., China and Russia have allowed human rights violations at home and failed to halt abuses in places such as Sudan's Darfur region, Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip, Iraq and Myanmar, Amnesty International said.Amnesty International is now touring the United States with a replica Gitmo prison cell.
The U.S. has used
"breathtaking legal obfuscation" to curtail the rights of inmates at detention centers at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Bagram, Afghanistan, and in Iraq, the London-based group said in its 2008 report. The European Union was criticized for the failure of some members to investigate "extraordinary rendition," the U.S. practice of secretly transferring terrorism suspects to other countries.
The report also focused on the records of administrations in emerging economies. China, which supports the governments in Sudan and Myanmar, has failed to live up to the promises it made on human rights ahead of the Beijing Olympics, the group said. Russia was also upbraided for suppressing dissent and for human rights abuses in Chechnya.
Last year "was characterized by the impotence of Western governments and the ambivalence or reluctance of emerging powers to tackle some of the world's worst human rights crises," Amnesty Secretary-General Irene Khan said in a statement accompanying the report.
No kidding!
Moonbats are encouraged to post film of their experience inside the cell.
Is there some reason why the EU can't do anything in Durfur ?
ReplyDeleteOh .. I forgot about the French .. something to so with an accordion.
ReplyDeleteNeo, it's the EU, it can't even agree on the color of shit. Keep in mind... they made an EU-wide standard concerning the size, shape and color of beer bottles. That's all they can do. That and suppressing freedom of speech and democracy.
ReplyDelete"You'd think there were worse human rights violations that Amnesty International could focus on rather than the imprisoning of radical Islamic terrorists at Gitmo."
ReplyDeleteIt's refreshing to see Jimmycrap finally admit that the prisoners at Guantanamo are, indeed, the victims of human rights violations.
Nice going, Jimmycrap! There's a chance you might become a decent human being yet!
I can't stand the leaders of Iran and all their thugs that do their bidding - it is absolutely sickening that people are being whipped, let alone whipped for holding a union rally.
ReplyDeleteThe EU won't do jack in Darfur, no one will and here is why...
ReplyDelete1. The UN won't do anything about it except whine, cry and issue statements. Why? Because China is opposed to any action in Sudan because it is all about their oil.
2. The US is not going to act unilaterally there. After the last 6 years of the LLL moonbats both here and in Europe howling about the "evil US" breaking away from the UN leash the US is essentially saying "Ok, we are waiting for the UN to go like all you freaking moonbats want us to."
3. The EU can't do anything there even if they wanted to. They can not even transport and supply their troops without the US's help and they are not going to ask. They don't want to go there anymore then they wanted to go to Bosnia when it was in flames. They would much rather let the US do it while they sit on the porch and bitch about us.
So I am sorry to tell you that the people in Darfur are doomed to die at the hands of the Islamofascists and the faul lies squarely on the shoulders of the moonbats.
Maybe AI could also have a parallel tour where people could get lashed or stoned, so they could get a taste of how Iran operates its Human Rights ideal.
ReplyDeleteOr they could look into the situation in French jails.
Nope. Like all Stalinists, they prefer to concentrate their fire on the 'real enemy', the US and its freedoms.
What exactly did Amnesty International say in their report that is false, Dave?
