Obama Met Secretly With Shady Imam in Michigan This Week

Barack Obama met secretly with a controversial Imam this week in Michigan.
Imam Hassan Qazwini has hosted Louis Farrakhan at his mosque and is close to the Hezbollah Spiritual Leader who issued the fatwa to blow up 300 U.S. Marines and embassy officials in 1983.

Imam Hassan Qazwini met privately with Senator Barack Obama this week in Michigan.
The Detroit Free Press reported:

A Muslim leader from Dearborn met privately with Sen. Barack Obama during his Wednesday visit to Michigan.

Imam Hassan Qazwini, head of the Islamic Center of America, said in an email that he met with Obama at Macomb Community College. A mosque spokesman, Eide Alawan, confirmed that the meeting took place. During the meeting, the two discussed the Presidential election, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the Iraq war, according to Qazwini.

At the end of the meeting, Qazwini said he gave Obama a copy of new book, “American Crescent,” (his book on why Islam is good for America) and invited Obama to visit his center.

The meeting with Obama came about after Qazwini had asked David Bonior, the former U.S. Rep. from Michigan, if he could meet with Obama during his visit. Qazwini was not selected to be part of a group of 20 people who met with Obama, but Qazwini later got a private meeting with Obama, Alawan said.

Debbie Schlussel wrote about Imam Hassan Qazmini and saw Farrakhan speak at his mosque in 1998:

In 1998, the mosque--then in Detroit--was the first mosque to which I went undercover. I wrote about it in The Detroit Newsistan, before the paper became Muslim-occupied territory under such boneheaded individuals as editorial page editor Nolan Dhimmi Finley. At the time, the mosque hosted Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who delivered a long hate-filled rant against Jews and Christians (and in praise of Saddam Hussein). When Farrakhan called Jewish Americans "forces of evil" with a "Satanic mentality." Imam Qazwini and his congregants gave him a standing ovation. That's not to mention that the Imam and other Muslim officials introduced Farrakhan as "our dear brother" and "a freedom fighter."

Debbie Schlussel wonders what Obama is doing hanging out with Hezbollah's Iranian Agent Imam in Michigan?

Iranian Human Rights activist Banafsheh Zand Bonazzi wrote to add this on the meeting:

Here we have one of the most unnoticed Mullah promoters, someone who is allegedly a member of the Mullahs secret agent network (VEVAK), now living in the U.S. and said to be working in brainwashing people in Dearborn, on behalf of the terrorist regime of Iran, meeting with Obama. I would bet my bottom dollar that he has a message from his presumed bosses in Tehran for this Democrat candidate. But how come this isn't being reported more widely?!

  1. Of all the idiot things that he could have done this takes the cake.

    I'm glad.

He's doing the work for the GOP.

After learning at Rev. Wright's knee for 20 years, lapping up the imam's preaching isn't much of a stretch for Mr. O.

"Secretly" spins it a bit from "privately" (the word used in the article), but if you're going to persist with the scare innuendos you might want to crank it up a notch, say "clandestinely" -- yeah, that sounds even more ominous.

(I have a feeling the meeting--a wise one considering his position--was on Obama's schedule, but no matter, you can still get away with "secretly," "clandestinely," "sneakily," try it.)

My bad, I see you already have "shady" in the blogpost title.

  4. I suppose, Cindy, you're equally willing to accept unspun reports on Bush and Cheney, right?

And you might want to look up the meaning(s) of secretly. For instance, the first is "kept from knowledge or hidden" or "working with hidden aims". Absent, say, videotape of the encounter, we don't know what Obama and the mullah discussed, thus, it is "kept from our knowledge" or what their "hidden aims" might be (or are you willingly accepting the 'spin' from Obama/mullah?
A second meaning is "remote from human frequentation or notice" and certainly there was little "human frequentation at the meeting.
A third meaning is "revealed only to the initiated" and I just *know* you don't want to go there. I'm not sure just what Obama has been "initiated" to, and I'll bet you don't, either.
A fourth meaning is "designed to elude observation or detection" and since they deliberately went to a place where they couldn't be observed, well . . .
Finally, your use of the term spin while you're spinning like crazy is really quite amusing. For a troll you certainly aren't particularly good at it.

  5. Oh, and the evidence clearly shows that the Imam is, indeed, "shady", but I'll let you look that one up on your own.

BTW, what is your first language, anyway? It certainly can't be English.

  6. Cindy, it's willing dupes like you who help undermine our country. The obamster intends to hold open meetings without preconditions with terrorists, and he doesn't proclaim this meeting as a precursor? GP's point, along with a heads-up from Mr. B., is that this meeting should have been public. What is the obamster afraid of? I want to see the video and transcript.

The obamster claims to be rock solid for Israel. Was he informing the imam of that "fact"? Was he telling the imam and his pals in teheran that the phony "religion of peace" and sharia law are not welcome here? Was he telling the imam that the U.S. SHALL NOT SUBMIT? I want to know.

In a Presidential race, secret meetings with sworn enemies of our way of life, our Constitution, and the State of Israel are relevant to the PUBLIC debate.

I would like to know what went on in that meeting. What was said and why isn't Obama telling us all about his reaching out to other constituencies?

So, Cindy, why is Obama keeping that secret?

  10. I would be careful about turning on the full-blown Obama bashing on this.

Go to Amazon.com and search his book American Crescent, read the reviews and comments.

While he MAY indeed have ties with Iran, he makes some comments that show how convoluted these ties are. Note that his mentor is Al Sistani, and unless you want to start bashing Sistani.. who has DEFINITELY kept the lid on among the Shia, then you're gonna end up chasing your own tail.

Sometimes you just have to put a clothespin on your nose. But I think Obama handled this wrong, AGAIN.

What is the point of meeting with this guy who clearly has associations with enemies of the US?

It appears to me that Obama is a Muslim in Christian clothing.

Cindy gets all upset that the word "secretly" is used, just to divert from the real issue, why is Obama meeting with this dude, period? Obama has strange bed fellows to say the least, and now I'm beginning to understand why Reverend Manning states Obama is a closet homosexual.

    Debbie Schlussel, 10/08/01:

"When campaigning in Michigan, Bush met repeatedly with Qazwini, and when he held his January press conference announcing his "faith-based" initiative, Qazwini was front and center among the religious leaders on stage at the White House. Bush introduced him as "my friend from Michigan," and according to the Detroit Free Press, Qazwini met with Bush at his Texas ranch in December "to advise him on formulating the pair of executive orders issued" for the program. Qazwini's mosque, which cheered for Farrakhan's jihad against America, will certainly be a major recipient of our "faith-based" tax-money."

  18. Why should this surprise anyone.

Obama is an Islamofascist supporting, America hating Marxist.

He thinks he will get away with this because the MSM is taking numbers and getting in line to give Obama a blowjob and he has trolls like meathead and cindy to "defend" him.

Unfortunately for Obama the MSM ain't doing so great on keeping his dirty laundry buried and keeping him from making a fool out of himself. And they have gotten so bad that even the Europress is disgusted with their behavior.

As for his Obamaniac trolls they really are getting that creepy "People's Temple" kind of feel to them, especially meathead. He will commit suicide within 90 days of the election unless he gets some professional help.

    Folks,

I don't like Obama any better than any of you, and I suspect his position on the Middle East is disingenuous. However, this meeting is not news.

In the first place, it's common for politicians to meet with local leaders, even shady ones. The Free Press article GP quotes says "Qazwini has also met several times with President Bush and other elected officials."

In the second place, if the meeting was supposed to be clandestine, how did the Free Press get a photograph of them shaking hands? The photo is standard political "meet and greet" stuff, not an unauthorized candid shot.

There's plenty of legitimate reasons to think Obama is blowing smoke on Middle East issues. This story is not one of them. Stand down.

That is what Obama's followers are asking for.

Mohammad Hussein Fadullah is not the spiritual leader of Hezbullah and interestingly anyone who has any clue about Shiaism would know that Hasan Qazwini and Fadullah represent different ideologies within Shiaism, may I add opposing ideologies so to suggest he is an agent of Hezbullah is wrong and to suggest that Fadullah is the spiritual leader of Hezbullah is even worse.

  31. I did not read all the comment and the article. the reason why i did not even bother reading the article is because after i read the comment under the photograph saying that Imam Hassan was meeting the spiritual leader of Hezbollah, It was not necessary for me to finish the article. Tell you why. The author of this article is one of the two, either he wrote this on purpose to mislead the not very knowledgeable people about who is who and to discredit some people and religion counting on peoples ignorance and brainwashing they received because if he knew what he was talking about he would know that Hezbollah spiritual leader is not Sayyed Mohamad Hussein Fadlallah ( what a joke, this really made me laugh, he needs to get his fact strait) or he is a complete moron. In any case I suggest people to distinguish between people and religion just like al qaeda does not represent Islam because they are a bunch of murderers, the zionist Israeli do not represent jews and Judaism. People are being lied to and brainwashed to put fear and hatred into their heart so they can be manipulated and believe it or not we the people are expandable, it is ok to kill a bunch of us as long as "they" can use the public opinion to their advantage. Sacrifice a few for the greater good but not of the people but of the puppet master. Sad is the world we leave in full of injustice.
