Come On Home, Fellas!... Canada Boots War Deserters

From my little chickenhawk heart to yours...
Here's a special tribute to the war resisters living in Canada:

Thanks to War Resisters Support Campaign for the video.

First Up: Corey Corey Glass, 25, was told yesterday that he would be booted.

U.S. soldier who fought in Iraq before deserting and coming to Canada, Corey Glass, 25, speaks to the media in Toronto, May 21, 2008. Glass learned on Wednesday that his application to remain in Canada has been rejected and he now must willingly return to the United States by June 12 or be deported. (REUTERS/Mark Blinch)

Corey Glass does not think it's fair that they're going to ship his a$$ south.

Ed Morrissey has more on the rude awakening facing the military deserters.
Welcome Home, Boys!

Corey, please. Guardsmen go through basic training. Let me ask you a question; Did they teach you to throw bread at hungry crowds, or hand grenades at enemy combatants? I thought so.

Humanitarian organization, yes. Actually the greatest one in the history of humanity. From liberating the Nazi death camps, freeing Japan from the imperial cult of genocide, helping South Korea become the modern, prosperous nation it is today instead of remaining manacled to the impoverished, tyrannical North where lights out is every night when the sun goes down, to liberating Iraq from a maniacal, homicidal dictator, the US Military is ultimately a humanitarian organization. It accomplishes what scores of negotiators, diplomats, peacekeeping "observers", and "statesmen" never have and never could. First, it wins just wars, succeeds in just conflicts, and never wavers of its own acccord, though it has been undermined at times by treasonous elements at home. After that the cell doors are flung open, the gas chambers are pulled down, the dictators brought to justice, the infrastructure rebuilt, the people empowered in their own cause.

Iraq is a humanitarian mission, Corey. You just chose to sit it out.

Ha! I hope these guys enjoy their 5 year stay in a military prison, for violating their agreement to join, voluntarily, the army.

Don't trust Liberals anywhere you find them -- they'll turn their back on you!

Anonymous, you are completely retarded / brainwashed.

Just because you volunteer for service, it does not immediately follow that you are obliged to obey illegal orders.

The Nuremberg trials established that unambiguously.

Try and think before you hit the keyboard with your claws.

Notice how the article says he fought in Iraq...Did any of YOU do that? Dont judge a man unless you have walked in his shoes. Some people lose the heart to fight once they have been exposed to shit they see in war. Try living with the pain every day. When you close your eyes, you see a fucking kids brain splattered on the ground, or a mother holding a burned, dead baby. Who the fuck are any of you to criticize someone who has been through such things. Some piece of shit internet blogger who hasn't seen or done shit in his life is going to pass judgment on a solider?! What he did may have been wrong, but he doesn't have to answer to some prick who has never put on a uniform or fought for anything except maybe a fucking spot in line at Starbucks. Why dont you go down to the recuiters office, join up, strap on a rifle, and see some shit, THEN maybe you can judge this man.

Just want to point out that A LOT of Canadians want these free loaders gone, too.

As for the previous Anon who mentioned the Nuremberg Trials: they established the right to refuse UNLAWFUL actions, they did not allow for members to desert their posts in a VOLUNTARY army and high tail it to foreign nations.
