But, later yesterday it was discovered that although Jamie Rubin was the one to interview McCain two years ago-- He had cherry-picked clips from the interview with McCain in his article.
Here is what John McCain actually said:
"I think the United States should take a step back, see what they do when they form their government, see what their policies are, and see the ways that we can engage with them, and if there aren’t any, there may be a hiatus."Of course, this is very different from what Rubin reported and from Barack Obama's pledge on his website to meet with terror regimes without preconditions.
But, that did not stop Jamie Rubin and Barack Obama from repeating the lie on McCain today.
Geraldo Rivera had Jamie Rubin on his show on FOX News on Saturday:
Here is what Obama said today:
Barack Obama: The irony is yesterday just as John McCain was making these attacks a story broke that he was actually guilty of the exact same thing that he's accusing me of.That, of course, is not true.
It looks like Obama is just another cheap politician trying to bring John McCain down to his level.
If he was not so ashamed of his positions he probably wouldn't have to resort to this dishonest tactic.
Sad.
More- It would be nice if conservatives(?) like Gov. Huckabee would do some research on a subject before going on the air and giving dishonest hacks like Rubin a complete pass.
Is it just me or is the "Obama Magic" fading? He seems to be so defensive lately and reacts poorly to everything said of him. I should be happy, but the thought that he might actually get elected is pretty scary! Let's pray Senator McCain can pull this out! God bless! Padre Steve, SDB
ReplyDeleteNice catch.
ReplyDeleteValerie
This is the third time his campaign has shopped these lies and then picked them up and repeated as if they are true.
ReplyDeleteI see a pattern here that isn't going to stop even if Obama gets called on it like he did with the 100 year war thing.
Sad thing is he knows better but continues to lie.

Now, now, now. You need to chill some, bro.
ReplyDeleteObama has all the markings of a Grade A con artist. Funny how so many want to be conned.
ReplyDeleteThis whole Jamie Rubin thing makes me sick. I saw the Geraldo interview and couldn't believe the nerve of that hack Rubin repeating those lies. But since the WaPo let him get away with it, I guess he was feeling Geraldo wouldn't challenge him either. Obama's magic is gone. Especially after the "sweetie" comment. Could he have been any more dismissive and arrogant???
ReplyDeleteWell if nothing else a case can be made for what seems to be Obama and the dim-witted Dems in ability to understand simple English...
ReplyDeleteI mean when you listen to what McCain actually said one has to wonder just how starved for common sense these fools are...
Obama has all the markings of a Grade A con artist. Funny how so many want to be conned.
ReplyDeleteYou can't cheat an honest man.
Ditto to what Lifetrek said.
ReplyDeleteAnd padre steve: as long as the media still lauds Obama as the next savior it will be difficult to break through to those who pay little attention to these illuminating insights into Obama's character.
Is Jamie Rubin really Soupy Sales in drag?.
ReplyDeleteI present the two videos together so you can decide for yourself.
It's ironic that Obama and his supporters attempt to defend the flap over Jeremiah Wright by pronouncing his words taken out of context, yet they are willing to turn around and do the exact same thing to their political opponent. It's sheer dishonesty that any objective American will recognize as such.
ReplyDeleteI am cool. My post used both "chill" and "bro."

This is becoming strikingly clear to everyone who's paying attention, except of course mainstream reporters. Obama = con man of the most blatant sort. The Democrats really do think we're stupid.
Um, no 'Mccain' Obama is not doing the exact same thing to Sen. McCain.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise there would be clips of Rev. Wright that put his statements in a different context. As it is there is nothing in Wright's ouvre that makes him any less the racist hatemonger that he is. Unlike the real McCain, whose words are being cherry picked and twisted out of context by someone who should (and does) know better.
I really love BHO's CYA doublespeak statements on this lately.
ReplyDeleteBy "No Preconditions" he means if they meet some conditions first, then he'll meet with them. . .
WTF?(to use that new textish schtuph the kiddies use)
Waaaah!!!
ReplyDeleteHeh. Sorry kiddies, you got played. Again.
Thanks to Bush's idiotic Nazi comment and McCain's inability to keep his little mouth shut, you've just given Obama 4 days (and counting) of positive headlines.
Hillary gets no press, McBush is loudly defending Bush's foreign policy and Democrats are united.
That's 3 for the price of 1. And you guys picked up the tab. lol.
Every state, every county, every district, every issue, every day. We will concede nothing. Hang on ladies, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
BRING. IT. ON.
glad to see you have your own little world there McB.
ReplyDeleteBHO is whining that Bush told the TRUTH about him. The press may be trying to spin it positive, but it comes across as what it is...petulant whining.
Oh yeah, it would probably help the O man if he'd not quote DIRECTLY from Marx when he is whining about "Politics Of Fear (tm Marx)
ReplyDeleteBwahahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys helped push McBush's big 2013 speech off the front page and into the trash.
The only media coverage he's gotten in 4 days is his Hamas comments and his angry little rant on his campaign bus.
That speech was supposed to mark the beginning of a clean break from President Duncecap. Too bad McBush can't control his mouth, because he embraced Duncecap 3 hours later and gave Dems a free ride at his own expense.
Even when I break it down for you guys you still can't figure it out. We're gonna rock your world.
Every state, every county, every district, every issue, every day. We will concede nothing.
BRING. IT. ON.
McBushed, so you support a man who doesn't know that Afghanistanis don't speak Arabic although he is chaiman of the Senate committee on Afghanistan. Perhaps he should have attended at least one meeting, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteThis is how it's going to be? Obama makes absurd claims, using cherry picked statements by McCain to defend, once again, his own position? Ummm, then maybe Obamassiah should take the statement on Iran down from his own website where he says he will negotiate with Iran without preconditions. Of course, now his talking heads from his campaign are saying that Obama would have preparations first. NEWS FLASH!!! starting the engines on Air Force One is NOT preparation.
But let't move on (play on words here) from the preparations comment. Now Obama says he would meet with the nut case from Iran even if they DIDN'T MEET ALL OUR REQUIREMENTS. What the hell does that mean? That some requirements would have to be met? How many, which ones? I guess the best lame excuse given by the Obamassiah campaign is that Iran is not represented by Amjustajollyjihad and that he would meet with other dignataries from Iran.
Yeah, that's gonna work. That's like saying the President of France is going to meet with Nancy Pelosi to work things out.
Man, I wish I knew you. I have this land scheme involving some ocean front property in Lubbock and I am sure you would like to invest in it.
Does it matter that the McCain interview took place in May of 2006? Hamas began it unremitting attacks from Gaza in June of 2006. Time and recent history should add some context to his satement of 2006, and Obama's blathering in 2008.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coward. Obama has to first whine and then hide behind some condensed quote ( and therefore intellectually dishonest) of McCain's from 2 years ago...all to let us know that he is truly an appeaser.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, why wouldn't he have just agreed with the President who was speaking to Israelis about appeasement? Lord knows they have had to deal with enough of those who want to appease!
Funny how the disciples of Hope & Change are so often represented by partisan losers like McBush in the comments above.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coward. Obama has to first whine and then hide behind some condensed quote ( and therefore intellectually dishonest) of McCain's from 2 years ago
Its Obama's pattern. Same way he distorted McCain's quote about being in Iraq for a 100 years. If thats the Hope & Change our Trinity-madrassa inspired candidate is peddling, I'm not buying.
