As gas prices sky rocket the Democratic Congress believes suing OPEC and nationalizing the oil industry is the answer to energy independence.
The Democratic Party refuses to expand development or production of energy sources.
Which party blocked the development of new sources of petroleum?-- Democrat
Which party blocked drilling in ANWR?-- Democrat
Which party blocked drilling off the coast of Florida?-- Democrat
Which party blocked drilling off of the east coast?-- Democrat
Which party blocked drilling off of the west coast?-- Democrat
Which party blocked drilling off the Alaskan coast?-- Democrat
Which party blocked building oil refineries?-- Democrat
Which party blocked clean nuclear energy production?-- Democrat
Which party blocked clean coal production?-- Democrat
And, now as gas prices sky rocket, radical liberal groups are demanding that the US ban offshore oil drilling and development to protect species not threatened by imaginary global warming.
After successfully blocking the Bush Administration from opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas development due to a "predicted" decline in polar bear numbers due to global warming, the radical conservationists are now going to sue to get the walrus placed on the threatened species list.
The Anchorage Daily News reported:
A conservation group gave notice Tuesday that it will sue to force federal action on a petition to list the Pacific walrus as a threatened species because of threats from global warming and offshore petroleum development. But, it doesn't stop there...
The deadline was May 8 for an initial 90-day review of the petition by the U.S. Department of the Interior, according to Center for Biological Diversity attorney Brendan Cummings.
The group filed the petition in February.
Shaye Wolf, a biologist and lead author of the petition, said Arctic sea ice is disappearing faster than the best predictions of climate models.
"As the sea ice recedes, so does the future of the Pacific walrus," she said.
The conservation group was one of three that successfully petitioned to have polar bears listed as threatened because of sea ice loss caused by global warming, a decision announced May 14 by Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne. That listing also followed court action to force deadline decisions.
The radical conservationists are also petitioning to have government protect the ringed, bearded and spotted seals, which occur in the icy waters off Alaska in the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas.
Forget lower gas prices and energy independence.
Democratic politicians will make sure that the US remains enslaved to radical regimes for oil supplies.
Michelle Malkin has more on the crazy enviro-litigation.

Figures.
UPDATE 2: More ammunition for the enviro-wackos.
My country is turning socialist-liberal, special interest, anti-Bush, anti-Conservative, anti-anything-but-the-hand-outs. The left think that everybody will ride a bicycle or have electric or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. Reneable energy that doesn't pollute. Could be worse... we could have the Sharia Law and all face Mecca, like they almost do in Londonistan
ReplyDeleteI share a lot with Gateway Bandit, I too write and I am a Sagittarius, however, the Year-of-the-Boar. Pig. Several people suggested I start a blog but I am an impecunious man-of-words and Google Blogspot fits perfectly.

When the whole panda, teddy, polar bear issue was brought up voices on the right were saying it would be just what the liberal enviro wackos needed to get their foot in the door, so I am in no way surprised. Apparently those living in the Cone of Silence inside the Beltway couldn't or wouldn't hear our concerns.
ReplyDeleteAnd it didn't take them too long either, did it?
Republicans many have lost their spine due to the MSM daily attacks since 2004 and then the 2006 onslaught. If, woulda, coulda hada Petraeus as MNF-I Commander in 2004 things might have been quite different.
ReplyDeleteStill, they need to start hitting back hard. They're losing their base.
McCain needs to understand this.
I love nature, but there are practical considerations for our nation. The Democrats have failed in every single since 2006 to address energy issues in Congress.
Flailing arms, rants, threatened lawsuits against OPEC nations is good for the cameras, but gets absolutely nothing done.
McCain needs to not focus only on Iraq. He needs to point out that Oil companies employ tens of thousands of hard workers and support millions of jobs in our nation. And then point out the hypocrisy of big government taxing them more than the profits they make. Everyone is afraid to support Oil publically as political suicide. But someone with a backbone to tell the truth can win on this argument against the lies of the left.
There is a way to encourage a healthy shift from oil to new technology in energy without the hatred and anger of Democrats.
Good job GP, stay on em!

If people do not realize that these conservation groups are out to destroy America's viability in the world, then they should ask themselves what the results of their petitions will be if they are successful. These kind of people do not hold the life of a human being any higher than the life of a seal, and they are more than not, pro-abortion.
ReplyDeleteSeals like to eat fish, a lot of fish, and the fishermen in Alaska, I doubt very much, would be enthused about seals being protected with fines and sentencing attached to those who feel otherwise. It would probably kill the fishing industry in Alaska and Canada - I eat fish made in Canada and canned in Alaska regularly. I'll be ticked if I can's afford or find a can in the future.
If these environmentalists have an issue with water safety, why don't they go after those who dump tons of toxic fluoride into the public water systems in America that humans consume.
You can fight back.

Since oil is traded on the futures market, the presumption of increased supplies or stability drives down the price of oil. When Hurricane Katrina damaged the oil refineries in the the South, the price of oil went up because the supply was threatened. In the face of a decreased demand, the Saudis increased their oil supply to maintain the level of sales. The most basic rules of supply and demand are in place and we are not keeping up with them.
ReplyDeleteWhat is worse is that the leaders in the House and Senate seemed more concerned with looking like they care about the problem instead of actually fixing it. The only member of the House that seems to be doing anything about it is Congressman Tim Murphy from Pennsylvania. He has a petition going that will be sent to the leaders of both parties in the House telling them to increase our domestic production and begin to secure our energy needs. The petition is at:

It may seem like a small step, but any step in the right direction is better than not doing anything at all.
Republicans and Democrats have failed. Instead of having oil and having alternatives, we have neither. If the parties worked together we could drill, nuclear, solar, wind, geothermal, farm waste, etc. Do it all. Do it now.
