Silky Pony threw his support behind Barack Obama today.
The AP reported:
Democrat John Edwards endorsed former rival Barack Obama on Wednesday, a move designed to help solidify support for the party's likely presidential nominee even as Hillary Rodham Clinton refuses to give up her long-shot candidacy.Meanwhile... Far Left Americablog had a few words for Hillary today:
Edwards made a surprise appearance with Obama in Grand Rapids, Mich., as the Illinois senator campaigns in a critical general election battleground state.
The endorsement came a day after Clinton defeated Obama by more than 2-to-1 in the West Virginia primary. The loss highlighted Obama's challenge in winning over the "Hillary Democrats" — white, working-class voters who also supported Edwards in significant numbers before he exited the race in late January.
Edwards, who received a thunderous ovation when Obama introduced him to a crowd of several thousand, said, "brothers and sisters, we must come together as Democrats" to defeat McCain. "We are here tonight because the Democratic voters have made their choice, and so have I."
Go away you horrible human beingOooh... Pass the popcorn, Nahanni.

IT'S NOT CLOSE. YOU FREAKING LOST THE NOMINATION, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?
Good God. What is wrong with her? The Clintons and their campaign staff don't give a damn that they are now hurting our electoral chances in the fall against McCain and against the Republicans in Congress. Their campaign isn't happening in some vacuum, and they know it. Our candidates can't fundraise because of her. Obama can't focus on McCain because of her. Obama is wasting money on HER, rather than spending it on McCain, because of her. EMILY's List, and AFSCME, and the American Federation of Teachers and others are wasting their members' money on her now-failed race - money that they could be spending, should be spending, on other real races, races that haven't already lost. She can't win, the math says she lost the nomination, but she doesn't give a damn. She's going to stay in the race like some spoiled hateful egotistical brat.

ReplyDeleteDavid "Mudcat" Saunders, a chief adviser for Edwards on rural affairs during his presidential campaign, said the timing of the endorsement couldn't be better given Obama's resounding loss in West Virginia on Tuesday.
"For Barack Obama, I think he ought to kiss Johnny Edwards on the lips to kill this 41-point loss," he added. "The story is not going to be the 41-point loss. It's going to be Edwards' endorsement."
Not that there's anything wrong with that! Heh.

ReplyDeleteYou know, I am having a hard time deciding if the Democratic party has become a Greek Tragedy or a Roman farce.
That sound you are hearing is the party beginning to rip itself apart. If things keep going at the rate they are by August there will be no way for the Democrats to repair the damage. Paul Begula is right, the Democrats can not win with the eggheads, the nutroots and the blacks. And the Democratic party seems hell bent on driving anyone who does not fit that description out of the party.
As to Edwards endorsement...
In the end it means nothing except that Silky figures he will get something out of it. The "white, working-class voters" who supported him are unlikely to blindly support Obama just because Silky told them to. Silky's endorsement will not even deliver his home state to the democrats in the general election so, in essence, it is worthless. It is interesting to note that all the Democratic party's biggest losers are all on the Obamawagon-Gore, Kerry, Carter and now the pony. Birds of a feather flock together...
As to the viciousness being displayed by the nutroots toward Clinton....
This is what happens when you spare the rod and spoil the child. They have absolutely no understanding in how things work and they think that if they keep throwing temper tantrums they will get what they want. I have a feeling that Hillary is going to teach them all a lesson in Politics 101 in August.
In the end the Democratic party is going to regret not kicking the nutroot kiddies to the curb after 2004. They are doing a very good job in alienating the group of voters who in this election are the ones who the Democrats need the most-the white, working class voters.
The one question I am beginning to have is whether or not the Clinton's will even stay in the party once this election is over if Hillary does not manage to get the nomination. The party is doing all it can to run them off right now, just like it did to run off Joe Lieberman.
This is something the Democratic leadership better worry about because if they go a large chunk of the support for the party as a whole will go with them. Support in demographic groups that the party has treated badly for the past eight years and now they need those groups badly in order to win.
Wow! Now that's a suprise!
ReplyDeleteOne socialist ambulance chaser supporting another socialist ambulance chaser...
I'm shocked!
No one better embodies the phrase "bucket of warm spit" than John Edwards.
ReplyDeleteAccording to reports I've seen, John "Nature Boy" Edwards thinks the United States is a "bully."
