not to mention the Obama cover it will provide should he finally MoveOn to meet his maker (where he'll be reunited with the likes of Saddam et al)..
It's all very simple regarding the phone calls. He's lining up support for his newest political project. Namely, Teddy not only wants to be a "Senator for Life," he wants to be "Senator for AFTERlife" too. Failing that, he'll accept being deified as a god by the Senate if or when he does "buy the farm."
