Chavez Urges FARC to Free Hostages & End Rebellion

One day after a Venezuelan guard member was captured delivering arms to FARC, Hugo Chavez urged the Marxist terror group to release its hostages.

Radio Santa Fe released a photo of the four individuals, including a Venezuelan guard member, arrested in Colombia this weekend. They were caught delivering arms to Marxist FARC terrorists.

The BBC reported:

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez' surprise call for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc) to end their rebellion and free hostages increases the pressure on the vulnerable rebel army.

The Farc are in a difficult position. The group's legendary leader is dead and it is battered by the US-backed Colombian military in its four-decades-long campaign.

So the call from President Chavez to release the hundreds of hostages they hold comes at a crucial time for the rebels.

The Farc have historically never listened to anyone outside their ranks and proven immune to Colombian public opinion.
FARC terrorists have been holding US defense contractors Keith Stansell, Mark Gonsalves and Thomas Howes since 2003 in the jungles of Colombia.

Gonsalves, Stansell and Howes were doing drug surveillance for the Department of Defense when they were taken hostage in February 2003. The single-engine plane carrying them and two other men crashed in a remote, mountainous region south of Colombia's capital, Bogota. Almost four years later they are still being held by FARC.

    well there ya go..

    Chavez is within their ranks..

he's also losing the spotlight at home & abroad.. hence, he needs to do something sensational to enhance his image.. of course all will forgive & forget that he not only supported, but helped prolong the FARC movement if they comply with their comrades plea.. but hey, that's what hero's are made of these days.. those who voluntarily give of life & limb to combat evil & protect everyone's freedom is passe.. :(

He finances Farc and they are his puppets so I suppose it will be easy to tell them to stop and behave.

Is he trying to reinvent his image or something? LOL

yeah, while he tries to pass a law to create a local spy network to turn in people to the state that disagree with him.

Praying for a revolution in Venezuela to set the people free.

Socialism, whats it ever good for? Except collective misery.
