--Why else would the Senate Intelligence Committee release a controversial and inaccurate report more than 5 years after the start of the war?
Don't they have any consideration what their political antics are doing to the morale of our men and women in Iraq? Don't they have any consideration what their constant pounding of the administration and our military is doing for our enemies?
Here is a classic video to review before reading this latest pile of crap:
Here's the transcript.
Democrats are hoping that America will forget that they were all talking the same smack before the war.
Keep those video quotes in mind as you read this garbage.
The New York Times reported:
In a report long delayed by partisan squabbling, the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday accused President Bush and Vice President Cheney of taking the country to war in Iraq by exaggerating evidence of links between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda in the emotional aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. If the Democrats are so convinced that "Bush lied" they should impeach him.
“The president and his advisers undertook a relentless public campaign in the aftermath of the attacks to use the war against Al Qaeda as a justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein,” Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV, the committee’s Democratic chairman, said in a statement accompanying the 171-page report.
The committee’s report cited some instances in which public statements by senior administration officials were not supported by the intelligence available at the time, such as suggestions that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda were operating in a kind of partnership, that the Baghdad regime had provided the terrorist network with weapons training, and that one of the Sept. 11 hijackers had met an Iraqi intelligence operative in Prague in 2001.
But, they can't because they have nothing.
Instead, they release bogus committee documents and watch their media go to work.
Senator Bond, who sat on the committee, said it best:
But the report found that on several key issues, including Iraq’s alleged nuclear, biological and chemical weapons programs, public statements from Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney and other top officials before the war were generally “substantiated” by the best estimates of the intelligence agencies, though the statements did not always reflect the agencies’ uncertainty about the evidence. All the weapons claims were disproved after invading troops found no unconventional arsenal and little effort to build one.Long after the troops come home after winning in Iraq the Democrats will still be whining.
Republicans on the committee sharply dissented from some of its findings and attached a detailed minority report that listed pre-war statements by Mr. Rockefeller and other Democrats describing the threat posed by Iraq.
“The report released today was a waste of committee time and resources that should have been spent overseeing the intelligence community,” said the minority report, signed by Sen. Christopher S. Bond of Missouri, the committee’s top Republican, and three Republican colleagues.
How pathetic.
UPDATE: Freedomplow dug up this quote by Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV, the Intelligence Committee’s Democratic chairman:
Senator John D. Rockefeller
(Democrat, West Virginia) October 10, 2002
"The global community -- in the form of the United Nations -- has declared repeatedly, through multiple resolutions, that the frightening prospect of a nuclear-armed Saddam cannot come to pass. But the U.N. has been unable to enforce those resolutions. We must eliminate that threat now, before it is too late.
But this isn't just a future threat. Saddam's existing biological and chemical weapons capabilities pose a very real threat to America, now. Saddam has used chemical weapons before, both against Iraq's enemies and against his own people. He is working to develop delivery systems like missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles that could bring these deadly weapons against U.S. forces and U.S. facilities in the Middle East.

Nothing but garbage and scum, hypocrites and liars. Like I posted below, they are trying the Vietnam angle all over again.
ReplyDeleteWe must be ready for films by Michael Moore and all the other looneys from Hollywood helping Obama out. Many have stayed in the background. But they're helping out like they did with the Clintons.
They will do crap weasal things like the Dems, trying to paint and shape our nation, Bush and therefore McCain as evil. This is their plan. Get ready for it.
And in fact, we all should be ready to help counter it.
Americans need to make a decision this year. Send a clear and overwhelming message to Hollywood, idiots like Hanks, Redford, Cusak, Rockerfellor, Reid, Pelosi.
We will not allow them to pull another Vietnam!
Didn't the Senate produce a report a couple of years ago that said the opposite? Are they going to do another one of these things every time the Senate changes hands? To be honest, I think that most people are going to see this as political posturing.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to the democratic betrayal

The boat we were in before with Iraq and Saddam is very similar to the boat we are in with Iran and the crazy mullahs. America and the allied forces went into Iraq and now the threat has been greatly reduced if not virtually eliminated, but what about Iran? Not only do we all believe Iran is seeking nuclear capabilities, but they've admitted this themselves and have verbally threatened to attack and eliminate Israel, the U.S., and other allied nations. What is done about it? Nothing!
ReplyDeleteWe hopefully will live to see that knowing a threat exists and doing nothing will mean world war. Oh wait, gee, that already happened before - you know that crazy German, Hitler and his book, telling all who could read what he intended to do.
I don't know why people believe sitting back and waiting for an inevitable war to start somehow puts them on a higher moral footing - only fools could be so smug and stupid. Someone always STARTS a war, and they always take the advantage.....always.
Here is a new video we made for Pelosi and idiots like Murtha.

ReplyDeletehaven't looked through all you have listed as yet.. but just in case this isn't included, here you go..
John Edwards: CNN: 2/24/02
excerpt:
[But I do think that the more serious question going forward is, what are we going to do? I mean, we have three different countries that, while they all present serious problems for the United States -- they're dictatorships, they're involved in the development and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction -- you know, the most imminent, clear and present threat to our country is not the same from those three countries. I think Iraq is the most serious and imminent threat to our country.
And I think they -- as a result, we have to, as we go forward and as we develop policies about how we're going to deal with each of these countries and what action, if any, we're going to take with respect to them, I think each of them have to be dealt with on their own merits.
And they do, in my judgment, present different threats. And I think Iraq and Saddam Hussein present the most serious and most imminent threat.]
tons more here..
and just for fun via..
The Astute Bloggers
excerpt:
[The administration's overarching point is true: Intelligence agencies overwhelmingly believed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and very few members of Congress from either party were skeptical about this belief before the war began in 2003. Indeed, top lawmakers in both parties were emphatic and certain in their public statements.]

Thank you Freedomplow and bg.
ReplyDeleteJust about every prominent Democrat made similar statements. One of the main differences between donkeys and Republicans is that the former put their party before their country. They have no hesitation about playing politics with national security. They are evil.
Someone with the time (perhaps you bg) should gather all such statements in one digital document so we can link to it everytime one of these despicable leftist liars says Bush Lied.
Rotten no good partisan hacks -- the Democrats are a disgrace.
ReplyDeleteSaddam was dangerous, started 5 wars, attacked Israel, and planned to kill Americans through numerous proxies -- get that through your heads you disgraceful bunch of hyper partisan hacks.

The United States has had fluoride dumped into their public water for over sixty years in some areas now, and like lead - it affects one's IQ - it has rendered some Americans dumber than a tack. Unfortunately, all those affected dumbed down Americans with low IQ's to start with have united in the democrat party and are going to pull America down the toilet - no need to swirl around the toilet bowl, just one large suck, and America is history.
