Media Madness: US Troops Come Under Heavy Fire From "Suspected" Militants?

Huh?
What do you have to do to be called a militant these days?

Thanos spotted today's strange AP headline:

The AP reported:

5 suspected militants killed in Iraq raids
By LAUREN FRAYER – 1 hour ago

BAGHDAD (AP) — U.S. soldiers under heavy fire during a raid Monday in northwestern Iraq called in airstrikes and killed five suspected al-Qaida in Iraq militants, the military said.

"What do you have to do to be called a militant these days?"

To meet the MSM standard, you probably have to be wearing a shirt that says "I am a Militant". But the standard for who can be called a terrorist? Wow, the AP and Reuters have set that bar so high that when Osama Bin Laden is captured or killed it will be reported as "Anti-Imperialist Protest Leader, Osama Bin Laden Captured Today in Pakistan. World Court asserts jurisdiction."

You just know deep down they want to call them "freedom fighters" or "liberation struggle members".

This is a bold statement from the AP. Our troops usually only kill innocent women and children.

  3. I'm pretty sure that under the Geneva Conventions, the MSM isn't allowed to call anyone a militant without first having a videotape of them pledging allegiance to bin-Laden (or the equivalent) and promising jihad on the US and vowing to kill Americans or anyone standing reasonably close to where any Americans have been or may be in the future. The MSM also has to see their 'Militant/Jihadi ID Card' and verify the serial number, photo, and home address.

Finally, of course, all the foregoing must be reviewed by an appropriate MSM review Board which contains at least 50% members of CAIR, and there must be a sanctioned appeals process if the board finds in favor of calling anyone a militant.

'Reporters' found in violation will be open to very large fines and/or being turned over to the "alleged militants" for videotaping of the 'rehabilitation' process.

I am sure it is the "al Qaida" part that is suspected, geniuses.
