Pope Benedict Thanks Bush For Defending Moral Values

President Bush continued his silent tour across Europe today.
There were no protesters in Germeny.
In Rome only 1,000 communists, Leftists, and anarchists showed up yesterday.
Today the Romans gathered on the street to watch as he drove by.
And, the pope thanked him for his moral values.

Today Pope Benedict thanked Bush for his strong moral values.
AKI reported:

Pope Benedict XVI personally thanked US President George W. Bush on Friday for his defence of "fundamental moral values".

The pontiff expressed his gratitude "for the warm and exceptional welcome he had received in the United States of America and at the White House during his visit there in April, and for the president's commitment in defence of fundamental moral values".

Details of Benedict's meeting with Bush were included in a statement released by the Vatican after the meeting on Friday morning.

The pontiff greeted Bush, who was accompanied by his wife Laura and by Mary Ann Glendon, the US Ambassador to the Holy See, at the Medieval St. John's Tower located in the Vatican Gardens.
Do you suppose freeing 50 million people from two brutal regimes has anything to do with today's blessing?

The leader of the free world was given a rare glimpse into the medieval St. John's Tower and a walk through the Vatican Gardens.
The AFP reported:

US President George W. Bush arrived on Friday for a special audience with Pope Benedict XVI, who is returning the hospitality he enjoyed at the White House in April.

Swiss Guards in their striped regalia stood to attention as Bush stepped out of a black limousine with his wife Laura and was warmly greeted by the head of the Roman Catholic Church outside the medieval St John's Tower.

The US leader could be heard exclaiming "what an honour" as he clasped the pontiff's hands in his.

US Ambassador to the Vatican Mary Ann Glendon, a Catholic, kissed the pontiff's hand.

Bush and the pope then went into a tete-a-tete in the tower, a venue reserved for illustrious guests instead of the usual site for papal audiences, the pontiff's private library.

The two, who also met at the Vatican last year, were later to stroll in the secluded Vatican Gardens.

Benedict's trip to the United States coincided with his 81st birthday, which he celebrated in grand style at the White House on April 16, when he was greeted with a 21-gun salute and some 13,500 well-wishers filled the South Lawn.

Bush "is a huge fan of the pope and has full respect for him," White House chief of protocol Nancy Goodman Brinker said.

The US leader "fully supports the (Catholic) Church and fully supports everything this pope is trying to do on behalf of peace, education and hunger in cooperation with world political leaders," she told the ANSA news agency.
An eerie quiet is following Bush through Europe this week.
Judith Apter Klinghoffer reports on this strange reaction from the Europeans.

There is a simpler explanation. Bush is no longer the focus of power. That's why all the serious talk is now about the election.

It is a lame duck reception.

  6. Don't kid yourselves, the most important meeting Bush took, the one that will have the most effect on the world, is the one that looked the fluffiest.

Europe is going to miss W when they don't have him anymore.

    So are we.

And you haters, you'll miss having an easy place to direct your hate. You'll have to work it out, finally.

  9. The Europeans are now beginning to learn the true meaning of the old adage "Be careful what you wish for-you just might get it."

They have had their eyes forced open by their Islamist immigrants as to the dangers of Islamofascism. They live within striking range of Iran's soon to be nuclear tipped missiles now. Russia is using oil as a tool to bitch slap them around like a two bit whore and there is nothing they can do about it. They are now also beginning to see exactly what the UN truly is-to quote Obi-Wan Kenobi "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy".

In essence the harsh reality is beginning to sink into their Utopian minds of just how fraught with peril their position truly is.

They can not defend themselves and now their worst nightmare might occur. It is one that they wished for. They have always longed for an American President who hates America as much as they do. Now that they might get one they are beginning to realize how disastrous it will be for them. Their "dream President" will do nothing but prostitute himself to every Islamofascist tyrant and Communist dictator from Tripoli to Pyongyang. And if push comes to shove Obama has made it quite clear who's side he is on-he will side with the Islamofascists, the neocommunists in Russia and just about anyone else who hates western civilization.

The Euros know they are weak, they can not fight back and thanks to the decades of Euroleftist "68'er" rule their armed forces and security offices are now infiltrated with Islamofascists. The only ones they could rely on to come to their aid (no matter how much they kicked them around) were the Americans, but they can no longer rely on that if Obama wins.

So that is the reason for the "eerie quiet". They realize that they are f**ked.

  11. "There is a difference between electing McCain and Obama and it has nothing to do with their skin color. To get elected Obama may talk a Bush light talk, but once he is in charge he will walk the leftist/Islamist desired appeasement walk. His supporters understand as much but hope the rest of us will forget." from the "strange reaction" link

Isn't this the truth! Let's hope people remember when they are voting.

Beautiful. I agree, God bless them!

It is refreshing to see a "nice" article about President Bush for a change.

All of these haters (where did these "haters come from?) won't understand, except in hindsight, how much the President loved Anmerica and how he kept us safe and how he upheld our freedoms.

    I will miss him.
