A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released today found that 79% of Americans believe the Pelosi-Reid Congress in failing and only 13% believe they are doing a good job.
This is the lowest approval for Congress in this poll dating back to 1997.
President Bush has an approval rating at 31%.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Democratic-led Congress believes taxing oil companies and suing OPEC will lead America out of its current gas crisis?
...Maybe it's their pro-OPEC policies that turn off Americans?
Don't be surprised to see more and more Democratic congresscritters bailing on Obama in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteA sort of mild, mild mind you, defense of the Congress....
ReplyDeleteRush at this moment is on a tear about how, not just in the US, but around the world (Britian he talks about specifically), everyone, but EVERYONE is angry, pissed-off, distressed, morose, etc etc.
Oh, btw, new life-expectancy stats just released show we are living longer than ever before. We would be healthier than ever before except for one thing.... we have too much food.
My buddy who spent about five grand to set up an Internet radio so he can rail on Bush 24/7 proves that we have MORE free-speech than ever before, by a long long shot.
Oh yeah, crime rates are way way down from 1960's and 70's rates, particularly as crimes get harder and harder to escape from, due to forensics.
And, we are winning, winning mind you, a war that has cost us substantially less than at least thirty or more SINGLE BATTLES in US history that I could list here if I chose. If I adjust that to account for percentage of US populations, I could easily list 50 battles or more. Easily.
Oh, also... Bush has destroyed the GOP (with his low ratings). And Clinton "destroyed the Democratic Party" (lost the House, etc).
Shall I go on? I sure could. The current Dem Congress is lame, but there is a far far bigger story at work that is pushing their ratings, AND Bush's, down.
In a nutshell, the entire West consists of a bunch of quivering babies, whining perpetually at the fact that the world is not perfect, and angry and pissed off at somebody, ANYBODY, who can be made to blame for same. Their own framework for looking at the world can never be an issue. Never.
Combine that with a media driven to relentlessly present our civilizations flaws, which if we solve with their help, means ZERO, because a solved problem (Iraq war, ahem) is not nearly as fun a story as moving on to the next problem (gas, mortages, warming, etc), an unceasing chain.
There really really is only one, Western-wide solution. Destroy all televisions. Which of course, is not going to happen, so we are stuck with the pernicious influence of images over substance... possibly forever and to our end.
I'm sure people are wondering how such a stupid woman could have gotten to such a position - and people think Obama, by just wearing his own skin, is achieving a first.
ReplyDeleteWow the democrat-lead congress has such terrible ratings. They're stuck in a "Quagmire!" The democrat-lead congress, oh my lord, this is a tough battle they face, just like Vietnam! Pathetic idiots. The democrat-lead congress should just pull out now and redeploy, leaving the republicans to take over. A little sarcasm anyone?
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that despite their supposed unpopularity, Democrats still appear poised to make significant gains in the upcoming election.
ReplyDelete13?
ReplyDeleteThis may be world record.
(at least in this parts of world, where polls not favouring gov are allowed)
Maybe she'll get an entry in Guiness' Book?
