Following Hillary Clinton's lead...
California Representative Maxine Waters takes it up a notch and says she will campaign for liberal Ned Lamont, the poster boy of the democratic party, to rid the party of former Vicepresidential candidate and moderate democrat Joe Lieberman.

Crooks and Liars has the audio.
From the Huffington Post:
As a matter of fact, I'm talking with Mr. Lamont up in Connecticut. He's running against Mr. Lieberman. As you know, Mr. Lieberman, who is a Democrat, acts just like a Republican, has been supporting the war. Now Mr. Lamont's got his back up against the wall in the Democratic primary -- Mr. Lieberman might get beaten! I'm calling Mr. Lamont to tell him I'm gonna come up and help him.Things look bleak for the moderates right now in the Democratic Party. Even Al Gore will not back his former moderate running mate.
It looks like this is it for Joe Lieberman. He filed forms to run as a petitioning candidate today... So this begs the question, "Who's next?"
If there is anyone that is more stupid than Waters it would have to be the voters that send her to the congress.
ReplyDeleteThe Democratic party will cease to exist in a decade or two at this rate. You can't be a mainstream party and shun all signs of moderation.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange that forty years ago there were all ideological stripes in both parties. There were liberal Republicans - who held the power in New England and New York - and conservative Democrats who ruled the South, as well as several flavors of moderate in each.
ReplyDeleteRecent decades have witnessed a major change, though, as conservative Democrats crossed the aisle to the GOP, and many liberal Republicans joined the Democratic Party.
Now the hardcore activist left is ready to force the moderates out of the Democratic Party as well. Good for them! It should be all moonbat, all the time.
That way the only time Kos will have to "crash the gate" is if he catches a ride with Patrick Kennedy.
