UPDATE: Romney blasts Obama!
At a Planned Parenthood event on Wednesday rock star Barak Obama wow-ed the crowd. His plans to teach sex education to kindergarteners was quite a hit with the Leftist Organization.
It's another weird exchange by Barak Obama:
I missed the joke on Alan Keyes- But, Barak and the crowd loved it.
ABC Political Radar has the whole exchange where he bashes conservatives in one sentence and then talks about "civil discourse in Washington" in the next breath.
Of course, Barak has no idea how insulting his remarks are as he goes on about how six-year-olds can benefit from sex education.
It used to be so simple when it was just finger painting and naptime.
Did all the outraged people actually read the Sex-Ed story?
ReplyDeleteObama said. 'If they ask a teacher 'where do babies come from,' that providing information that the fact is that it's not a stork is probably not an unhealthy thing."
If you have a problem with that at the kindergarden level, you're probably not interested in any type of science based education and have probably already written off public education because it won't teach Creationism.
The problem isn't creation vs. the thory of evolution(it's still the "theory of" even in scientific circles). Who decides what is "age appropriate" for the 4 and 5 year-old kids? I don't want someone deciding for my child that they should learn/see certain things at the age of 4. It's not their decision to make in the life of my son. Being that it's a planned parenthood stage, though, I guess we won't have to worry about kids making it to any age from this crowd.
ReplyDeleteWell, so far the only commenter is you, anonymous. So I don't know where you get "all the outraged people".
ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't think the teacher should respond to such questions at all, except to say "You should ask your parents".
Also, it's really hard to get any traction when you cast generalizations about teaching Creationism, etc. etc. . .since many of us conservatives believe it isn't science, and shouldn't be taught at all.
How dare Obama try to teach young children about things like science and biology?? Doesn't he know that the almighty God created the Earth 6000 years ago, and will reveal His secrets when he is good and ready? I can't believe this atheist lib (who is probably also gay) wants to brainwash our children with fairytales about humans being born from monkeys, and the earth revolving around the sun, or anything for that matter. It's obvious that he's doing this only to promote his islamofascst agenda.
ReplyDeleteShap, the humor in your diatribe is a rather sophomoric invective that impresses no one. One of these days you could try discussion as a method of learning. It beats the ideological shield in which you've sequestered your intellect.
ReplyDelete. The Obama campaign gave this statement to CBN's David Brody: "Barack Obama supports sensible, community-driven education for children because, among other things, he believes it could help protect them from pedophiles. A child's knowledge of the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching is crucial to keeping them safe from predators."
ReplyDeleteBrody's analysis: "Obama doesn't want to hand out condoms to five year olds. He doesn't want cucumber demonstrations as part of show and tell. The legitimate reasonable discussion here is whether the federal government and/or local school boards should get involved in providing these five year olds information about inappropriate touching or should it be left up to families only."
Obama spokesman Bill Burton tells First Read: "You can teach a kid about what's appropriate and not appropriate to protect them from predators out there." In addition, he issued a document showing that the Oregon Department of Education has guidelines for sex education for children in grades K-3 (which includes understanding the difference between a good touch and a bad touch), and that the Sexuality Information And Education Council of the United States has curriculum for those in kindergarten.

ReplyDeleteit's not about Science or Creationism.. it's about "PARENTAL RIGHTS" being flushed down the drain, not to mention "CHILDRENS RIGHTS".. which literally don't exist imho..
the socialist "machine" is taking over, nothing is sacred, especially the innocents that should naturally accompany ones childhood..

Yeah hi. As somebody who has done a LOT of research on sex education (both comprehensive and abstinence-only), let me share a tidbit with you. The most solid conclusion my research brought is in these simple facts:
ReplyDelete1)Parents WANT to be the ones teaching their children and teens about sex.
2)Children and teens WANT to talk to their parents about sex, and would much rather learn from them than at school.
3)A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF PARENTS ACTUALLY SPEAK TO THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT SEX. The percentage goes down even further when asking if parents used medically-accurate, scientific information or said anything other than "don't do it or you'll go to hell/die/get kicked out of my house."
So basically, to the whole "parental rights" crowd: I'm not disagreeing with you - I'm asking you to practice what you preach, because the stats say you don't.
The only reason us crazy liberals advocate for sex ed in schools (and trust me, I'd rather my kid didn't learn from some idiot gym coach) is because apparently teens won't get it ANYWHERE if we don't. And also, if the option is some abstinence-only, misinformed, unscientific BS, well, then I'd rather we just did away with sex ed altogether. See? Something we can agree on.
And a few more facts: European countries (specifically France (I know, I know, BOOO!), Germany, and the Netherlands) have (in comparison to the US): lower rates of teen STDs, lower rates of teen pregnancy, lower rates of teen live births, GREATER access to abortions that cost LESS but still a LOWER(!!!) abortion rate (pay attention, lifers), and European teens start having sex LATER and with less frequency than American teens. You know what else they have? COMPREHENSIVE, ACCURATE, INCLUSIVE SEX EDUCATION that yes, starts as early as third grade. They also have a society that doesn't shame their adolescents for their sexuality while simultaneously cramming down their throat. And they're beating us. Badly. Pay attention.
"I can't believe this atheist lib (who is probably also gay) wants to brainwash our children with fairytales about humans being born from monkeys - golden word ny friend!
