The Politico reported:
New York Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a powerful member of the Democratic leadership, said Friday the Senate should not confirm another U.S. Supreme Court nominee under President Bush “except in extraordinary circumstances.”Here we have Schumer announcing that democrats will change Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution and take over the responsibility of appointing justices to the Supreme Court.
“We should reverse the presumption of confirmation,” Schumer told the American Constitution Society convention in Washington. “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.”
Schumer’s assertion comes as Democrats and liberal advocacy groups are increasingly complaining that the Supreme Court with Bush’s nominees – Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel A. Alito – has moved quicker than expected to overturn legal precedents.
And, Congressional democrats wonder why they have the lowest approval ratings on record?
Michelle Malkin offers a reminder on how the democrats treated the last judge who was confirmed. It look something like this:

The democrats were so freekin brutal they made his wife break down in tears!
Powerline says its a coup.
Jules Crittenden has more on this new democratic "Severation of Powers."
WHAT?!! The democrat party despises the Constitution?!! No surprise, just one giant step toward their ignoble defeat at the polls, or civil war. Our American Constitution is not about the usurpation of power by an oligarchy.
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean that Durbin the turban is calling Ms. Verne Edney and aider and abetter to Southwick's alledged racism or is she merely a liar (imagine Durbin et all accusing anyone of lying)?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, what can it all mean except that people have very short memories it seems?
ReplyDeleteNote the following from Rasmussen Reports: Public opinion of Congress remains near the lowest levels every recorded. Just 16% of American voters now say that Congress is doing a Good (13%) or an Excellent (3%) job. That’s unchanged from a month ago but down from 26% at the end of May.
Then from the same site we have this: When it comes to National Security, Democrats are now trusted more by 42% of likely voters, Republicans by 40%.
How bizzare!
In November of '05 there was this study released: Media Bias Is Real, Finds UCLA Political Scientist
