He was against the surge-- He said it wouldn't work-- He said more troops would not make a difference.
Barack Obama was wrong.
The surge did work- We are winning in Iraq.
Today, thanks to the United States of America, another country is free!
(Texarkana News)
But, no thanks to St. Barack Obama or the Democratic Party.
The RNC released this powerful ad on flip-flopping and dishonest Barack Obama:
Barack Obama was wrong on Iraq.
Hat Tip Primetime Politics.
More... Asked today if he had been flip-flopping on shifting stances on Iraq, guns and the death penalty, Obama responded, "The people who say this haven't apparently been listening to me."
Unreal.
Related... This Ain't Hell has the truth about that "Iraqi timeline" story being reported today.
That is going to leave a mark!
ReplyDeleteHa! ha! ha!
ReplyDeleteThat last little bit of vocal stumbling by Hussein the Inane was priceless...
Yet one more for the Obama Gaffes pile?
President Bush has long maintained that if the Iraqi government wants the U.S. to leave Iraq, then the U.S. would do just that, as he said in May 2007:
ReplyDeleteWe are there at the invitation of the Iraqi government. This is a sovereign nation. Twelve million people went to the polls to approve a constitution. It’s their government’s choice. If they were to say, leave, we would leave.
Today, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki suggested having a timetable for the withdrawal of coalition troops. “The direction we are taking is to have a memorandum of understanding either for the departure of the forces or to have a timetable for their withdrawal,” Maliki’s office quoted him as saying.
But the administration has rebuffed Maliki’s request for a timeline.
Bryan Whiteman, WH spokesman: [I]t is dependent on conditions on the ground. … But timelines tend to be artificial in nature.
The State Department also hedged on whether the Bush administration would listen to Maliki. In a briefing today, spokesperson Sean McCormack said the remark may have been a transcription error:
As multiple press accounts – as well as Maliki’s office — have indicated, Maliki did indeed suggest a timeline for withdrawal in negotiating a security agreement with the United States.
“I’ve got confidence in him,” Bush said in 2007 about Maliki’s leadership. But despite its rhetoric, it seems the Bush administration could care less what the Iraqi people or the Iraqi government want.
But WE WON!!!! It's OUR country NOT the Iraqis' country, isn't it?
What in the heck is ks trying to say? he/she/it must be very delusional. Obambi's flip flops are getting comical. I wonder if there is a line on them at Vegas!
ReplyDelete"What in the heck is ks trying to say?"...
ReplyDeleteCaution! Congenital idiot at work when you see the infamous ks brand flitting about...
This is what happens when you nominate someone for the United States Presidency with exactly 143 days of experience in the senate. You get a lack of experience. I have food in my fridge longer than that. Way to go Dems!!
ReplyDeleteHey KS,
ReplyDeleteThe al-Maliki government seems to be doing better than our own DEMOCRAT-led Congress at 9% approval.
Why don't we just make a new deal?...Our troops will leave Iraq if the Dems will just step down now and promise not to return until they are "stable".
- "Obama responded, "The people who say this haven't apparently been listening to me."
ReplyDeleteThis comes to mind: Yes they have, that's why they are bringing it up, you arrogant, sanctimonious jerk. Just like an elitist - blame everyone else - it's not him.
The real pity is to see the Obamabots just mindlessly embrace this guy regardless of his overturning positions, his associations, his own words.
(Don't tell me words don't matter)
The tragedy is seeing the same from those supposedly representing the people, on behalf of their country. Other Senators, Reps, and former same - engaging in pure deceit as they try to cover for Obama.
It is very troubling that Obama is somehow above all the things that he does, or says - so, as another obfuscation from this deceiver, what he really means vs what he says is - Don't tell me words matter!
right4us
Obama responded, "The people who say this haven't apparently been listening to me."
ReplyDeleteYou just can't make this stuff up. It's hilarious!
right4us, like a good little parrot, sqawks that Senator Obama, who grew up in a single parent household, and at one point, was raised by grandparents, got into good schools by dint of his own mental abilities (not who his Daddy was or with his Daddy's money) and then worked as a community organizer instead of at a prestigious law firm making big $$$$, like a good little Republican legacy boy would, calls that "elitist."
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaha!
Time to go to FAUX news and get your new talking "squawk, squawk" points.
Look! Over there! Obama's BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!!!
Quick! Ignore the fact that the Bushistas have robbed you and your grandchildren blind, the economy is in the toilet, gas is almost $5.00 a gallon, food prices have risen, the housing bubble has imploded, and unemployment is rinsing. DEMAND to see Obama's birth certificate.
That'll fix everything and make your life much, much better.
Obama's most cynical denial is his insistence that his 2nd amendment position hasn't changed. Not only has it changed but he has literally taken just about every 2nd amendment position you can imagine.
ReplyDeleteHe has been for a total ban on guns, for an individual's right to bear arms, for the D.C. gun ban, and for Heller (which of course made said ban unconstitutional), and of course for "sensible gun restrictions" whatever those maybe. Have I missed any positions? Can he take on any more positions on this issue?
It takes quite a bit of chutzpah to cynically lurch to the middle with blatant reversals on positions and then claim you have been consistent the whole time.
Furthermore, nothing is more annoying than a Democrat defending Obama by attacking McCain's flip flops. There are flip flops and then there is Obama. here is how I wrote about it...
http://theeprovocateur.blogspot.com/2008/07/flip-flops-mccain-vs-obama.html
Oh dear!
ReplyDeleteks PWNED again!... ROFLMAO!
"Quick! Ignore the fact that the Bushistas have robbed you and your grandchildren blind, the economy is in the toilet, gas is almost $5.00 a gallon blah! blah! blah! and some more pointless blah!"...
Yes let's just see what happened to the price of gasoline...
Jan. of '01 through Nov. of '06 price of gasoline rose 79 cents/gallon... BUT Nov. of '06 through June of '08 price of gasoline rose $1.83/gallon...
Imagine that!
What did the botox beyotch say back in April of '06?
"Democrats have a plan to lower gas prices, taking America in a new direction that works for everyone, not just the few"...
How's that working out for you ks?
KS - like a good little leftist, moron - is one of the Obamabots, obviously. Exibit A, his own words. Exibit B, his mindlessness - one can become an elitist, regardless of his past situations - some even do becasue of them. - what a nitwit!
ReplyDeleteExibit C, cluelessness - I am not a Republican, nor, am I a boy.
Exibit D, gets his news, talking points and repeat phrases from CNN, MSNBC, ect.. - talk about being a parrot.
If you are so freaked out about his BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!!!, maybe you should seek help.
""Quick! Ignore the fact that the Bushistas have robbed you and your grandchildren blind, the economy is in the toilet,... "" - the Democrat party is just as responsible for our debt as they participated, willingly. i.e. This from Democrat Dick Durbin: a 3,417-page, $554.7 billion "omnibus" spending bill. Among other things, it weighed 34 pounds and contained approximately 9,800 special-interest earmarks. - with 46 hours and 8 minutes to read with its posting at 12:15 AM - Dick expected it to pass without objection (without reading as well).
""gas is almost $5.00 a gallon,.. "" - The Democrats ran on "lowering gas prices" two yrs and $2 ago. It is the Dems that have been restricting our drilling for years - but then you'd know this if your head was somewhere else, other than up Keith Olbermann's ???
""food prices have risen,... - Thanks in part to Dems pushing corn for oil instead of food, and feed, ect.. - As well as: ""the housing bubble has imploded, and unemployment is rinsing.."" - You act like the Dems are innocent, when they have blood all over their hands here. They have controlled congress since 06, and blocked legislation, and pushed legislation prior, that has us to where we are today.
Like Obama, are you? - it's other's fault - don't look at me, or my party.
And, you need to get over your issue with "Obama's birth certificate" - or at least not project it toward me - I never mentioned it, in case you missed that somehow??
Don't worry, one of the Baraks will save us, - but which one? - The one that ran left of Hillary, or the one trying to run right of McCain?
right4us
Someone should buy him a tape recorder. Sure hope all of this is on tape and video somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe issue here is you have to understand Obama speak.
ReplyDeleteHe is the center of the universe
He does not flip flop
The Universe Does
Maliki does not have the power to ask for a US pullout on his own. He's running for re-election and like many politicians, he's going to advocate the popular, not particularly the prudent.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I am all for giving the Iraqis a timetable if they so desire. And I am also watching carefully the security agreement before the Iraqi parliament. They want to subject American troops to Iraqi law and jurisdiction.
HELL NO.
Want to see how fast I could turn positions?
KS -- announcing a timetable is still as imprudent as it always was ... and the Administration is acting prudently to discourage such a course of action, even though the political pressures on al-Maliki are pushing him to do so.
ReplyDeleteWhether or not we are making plans for an expeditious departure is IRRELEVANT ... just as the Iraqi government changed the election timing to thwart the planning of the insurgency years ago, we still need to keep the thugs in the dark about our plans to leave.
But you don't care one whit about prudence ... not as long as you can use imprudence to denigrate this Administration ... just another lame attempt to Save the Legacy of Woodstock Nation, by discrediting the alternative viewpoint.
You see, we see right through y'all ... this isn't about the war. For many of you, it has always been All About Bush, and how you can discredit him ...
... because (1) you feel cheated out of your perceived birthright-to-rule-over-us-"stupid"-people, and (2) you believe that discrediting him will also discredit a worldview you abhor, because it might lead to someone looking with disdain upon your choices in life ...
... even though that same worldview has brought peace and prosperity to wherever it was realized, to a far, far greater degree than so-called "progressive" policies.
Guys - that list of countrie sin the graphic that USA freed (or helped to free) doesn't include those it protected from Fascsim and Totalitarianism. New Zealand was not invaded by the Japanese in WWII only because the USA expended the lives of it's servicemen at the Battle of the Coral Sea..
ReplyDeleteThank you USA.

New Zealand
OMG you guys are DELUSIONAL!
ReplyDeleteAmericans want out of Iraq. Iraqis want a timetable to get us out of Iraq. Period. Full stop.
That's it boys. You're toast.
Obama will get us out.
McCain will stay.
Obama was right, McCain was wrong.
Please, please spend the next 4 months bragging about the invasion of Iraq - holy crap you guys just don't get it - Americans are done with this war. They want out.
Get a friggin' clue.
Why do you think Republicans got spanked in 2006?
Brian Smaller, New Zealand
ReplyDeleteThank you for that info. Thanks for your support and New Zealand's support in Afghanistan.

We can add Columbia as well since billions goes to fight Communist FARC terrorist. Since Uribe, Columbia now has a real opportunity at freedom from terror.
Obama says,
ReplyDelete"I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq uh, is going to solve the sectarian violence there, in fact I think it will do the reverse."
Reporter:
"You did not refer to the 16 month time zone. Does that mean you can tell us today that you will not change the 16 month timetables?"
Obama:
"Heaaannngh, sigghh..."
LOL!!!
Hahahahahaha... that was a great clip to see the timetables twisted back on the false messiah.
Liar, Liar, Pants on Fiaaar.
Against the war, against the surge.
Obama and his robotic obamatrons would've left 25 million people behind to terrorist thugs.
What a great legacy as a leader to push for defeat in war. What kind of leader pushes for defeat of your military during war?
McCain, a true leader, experieced in War, with solid decicion making process, did not panic, did not pander and pushed for victory. This is the sign of a true leader.
To see how the Iraqi government really views the U.S. military, watch this clip from FAUX News (Get it?! Get it?! Fox News is fake, so we call it Faux!!):
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/5h4d6l
Note that General Mark Hertling is very ostentatiously wearing an Iraqi flag on his shoulder.
This is to send a message to the region that the Iraqi military and the U.S. military are one, and this victory was achieved by both countries working together.
Maliki must prove to his countrymen that he's no puppet. This is a life-or-death proposition in that part of the world, so he's saying the things most Arabs want to hear, while the American and Iraqi militaries are signaling what has already happened: The U.S. and Iraq are now allies, and woe betide anybody who bothers Iraq from now on.
Even if Obama wins--and he won't--he won't withdraw all the troops. It's no longer an option, thank God.
Right on Joshua,
ReplyDeleteNot only was McCain for the surge, if memory serves me correctly, he advocated the surge long before it became a reality. That's visionary. Obambi is reactionary. Can't wait to see those ads with Flip-Flop-Flappin Obambi on the wind surf board going wherever the wind blows!
GP would you like the Cheese Puffs? (I'm sick of popcorn already!)
You guys are doing an admirable job clubbing ks with the Clue Bat(TM).
ReplyDeleteI have come to the conclusion that ks is not only a clueless Obamaniac troll but is also a masochist. He/she/it enjoys getting beat on way too much.
midwestengr,
ReplyDeleteYep, you're right. He was pushing for a surge at the onset of problems and in fact if memory serves correct, prior to the invasion wanted a larger force.
Hindsight is 20/20. But what if McCain would've been President? I think he would've surged troops earlier and faster along with changes to defense leadership.
War is messy, uncontrollable with a brutal enemy murdering innocents all around with insurgencies like this. Its easy to second-guess. But we cannot doubt that McCain did not panic, nor did he pander while at war with troops on the ground and 25 million lives at stake.
Obama is a puppet created by a bunch of Marxist puppet Meisters and the actual public support of radical terrorist organizations and tyrants.
Axelrod, Ayers, the Communist New Party supported his political rise, along with Hamas supporters, Hezbollah, Iran, Fidel, Raul, Syria, and every other nutjob radical enemy of America that now supports him.
It is little wonder that a weakling, appeaser like Obama with Iranian/Syrian support for his election as President in our country, he would seek to draw down from Iraq to appease his Islamic radical lovers.
What a screwball the leftist Dems have delivered to this country during a time of war to the American people. They live in some thick delusion. They cry peace, peace, peace, but never support the creation of peace thru strength, only by weakness and appeasement to our enemies do they seek peace. This is the Euro Socialist approach that is backfiring today.
This is not Vietnam, nor will we allow it to become Vietnam all over again. Our troops, our veterans all deserve better than Obama. Having him as their Commander in Chief is an insult to our military.
Vets For Freedom Not Defeat!
nahanni,
ReplyDeleteit is unfair, like watching a snail slink up the edge of a stick a child puts in its face ;-)
Oh, I forgot to add!
ReplyDeleteObama's Change and Hope for Defense!
A Civilian Nantional Security Force, LOL!
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set," he said Wednesday. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."
Brownshirts! LOL, Thats the ticket, all marching forth for Axelrod's and Ayers puppet!
He continues... OT in same article. He wants to mandate community service, forcing our children into 100hrs of forced labor, or he will refuse federal money.
"He said he would make federal assistance conditional on school districts establishing service programs and set the goal of 50 hours of service a year for middle and high school students."
LOL, That is our money! Our tax dollars! Paying your salary Senator. What an arrogant snob. You work for "We the People." Its time "We the people" "conditionally" hold back our money to idiots like you that waste our tax dollars on pie in the sky political hack ideas. Until you can show a balanced budget and SS plan, we withhold our money from you!
Mr "The surge won't work" continues...
"For college students, Obama would set the goal at 100 hours of service a year and create a $4,000 annual tax credit for college students that would be tied to that level of service."
Why not pay students to work? Doh! Instead of a faux tax credit? And why don't children get paid to work in the community? Obama is a child labor abuser! Chuckles.
"Obama said he realizes there will be skeptics, but stressed that greater public service will make the nation safer."
Forced child labor! He's as bad as the Chinese. Free social services on the backs of our children thru forced federal mandates.
Safer for who? Leftist dimwits? Like Obama that received $40K cash before ever writing one line in his book and taking off to Bali for two months with Michelle? Ohhhh how they suuuuufffferrred!
"Our destiny as Americans is tied up with one another," he said. "If we are less respected in the world, then you will be less safe."
Again, the appeaser speaketh weakness to our enemies. Enemies do not respect weakness. Respect is earned, not by bending over to leaders in the world. Whose opinions were all wrong about Iraq.
True respect is earned by standing up for our beliefs in Freedom, Liberty and Justice for all when all around us is the cacophony of screaming hyenas. That means standing up to terrorist like al Qaeda and Taliban, or crooks, theives and appeasers like France's Chirac, or Germany's Schroeder, or tyrants like Syria's Assad, Iraq's Saddam, Iran's Khomeinist. It means when all about you is a thrashing, rolling waves of temptations to yield and succomb to consensus defeat, not backing down! Not flinching! And not giving in when a bunch of whiners cry for defeat and retreat like the Democrat Defeatist did at home while our military was on the frontlines around the world.
Today as a result of Bush standing up against evil in the world there are more people fighting for liberty and justice, with new allies around the globe, including in Europe.
Now is not the time to put an appeaser back in office to lose all the valuable ground gained in liberty by our military, state and executive branches.
Now is the time to continue the fight for liberty and justice in this world with a proven leader.
McCain.
Simple.
Straight.
and Forward bound.
-----
National Civilian Security? What the hey???? What has Axelrod and Ayers been smoking? Giving this idea to Obama? Or did Obama think this up?
Withholding our tax dollars?
LOL... what a clueless campaign.
Gogli ... it is you who are delusional.
ReplyDeleteThe reason the GOP got spanked in 2006 was because they started acting like Democrats re: earmarks and lobbyists ... and the Dem leadership was able to hide itself behind some Blue Dogs in critical races, only to come out in full moonbat mode after the election. Disillusioned, the GOP base stayed home ... the Dems got some independents ... and now we have a Congress with SINGLE-DIGIT approval ratings to go with those $4+ gas prices.
Worse. Than. Bush.
It is the Big 0 who has been wrong all along ... for had we not taken the course advocated by both our generals and Sen. McCain, al-Maliki would probably not be in a position to assert himself this way ... or for that matter, be in any position of power at all ... that is, if he remained alive after we left, with AQI and al-Sadr both trying to grab his power.
And if you dig a little deeper, the timetable we are talking about here is NOT for total withdrawal from Iraq, anyway ... just a pullback from the cities to bases in the countryside.
Just like we've always planned ... for this is the basis of Sen. McCain's "100 Years" comment people like you love to misquote. We will support Iraq, the same way we have supported Germany, Japan, and South Korea.
Still, publishing a timetable is IMPRUDENT, for it gives the enemy a measure of your resolve.
But, let us let the political battle go on between the Coalition and Iraq ... for it is a political battle, something that is a vast improvement over the status quo circa 2002/2003. Actually, it is a sign of PROGRESS.
And something far beyond the simplistic -- not simple, simplistic -- analysis you have offered of American and Iraqi public opinion.
The new BHO doctrine - when the going gets tough we leave, but if the going gets easy we stay. I would think that since the surge is indeed working this would comport well well BHO’s original position of immediately pulling out of Iraq - our presence is not needed. Now he is hesitant to leave Iraq. I am missing something.

While I don't know what the phrase "unemployment is rinsing" means it is quite ironic that all the things he complains about have occurred, not coincidentally, at exactly the same time as the democrats took over the house and senate. Yet its the minority republicans fault.
This KS guy is prototype Obamatron.
Facts, words, actions, associations, none of it matters to these dolts.
I find Senator Obama's position on Iraq to be perfectly consistent and coherent, just as mine was.
