On the Sean Hannity Show today LCpl Justin Sharratt announced that he is going to sue John Murtha for defamation.

Marine Staff Sgt. Frank D. Wuterich, another Haditha marine, already filed suit in Federal Court against John Murtha back on August 2, 2006.
The Washington Post reported back in August:
Attorneys for Frank D. Wuterich, 26, argue in court papers that Murtha tarnished the Marine's reputation by telling news organizations in May that the Marine unit cracked after a roadside bomb killed one of its members and that the troops "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Murtha also said repeatedly that the incident was covered up.A federal judge has already ordered Murtha to testify in the defamation case brought against him.
In the court filing, obtained by The Washington Post, the lawyers say that Murtha made the comments after being briefed by Defense Department officials who "deliberately provided him with inaccurate and false information." Neal A. Puckett and Mark S. Zaid, suing for libel and invasion of privacy, also wrote that Murtha made the comments outside of his official scope as a congressman.
All charges against LCpl Justin Sharratt were dropped on August 9, 2007. Today in a radio interview with Sean Hannity, Justin and his father Darryll Sharratt said that they would file charges against John "cold-blooded" Murtha.
TIME Magazine frets that no one will be charged for the "crimes" in Haditha.
HotAir reports that Col. Jeffrey Chessani, commander of the Third Battalion that allegedly perpetrated the massacre, is also considering filing suit against Murtha.

YEAH! I heard him on Sean's show today and his description of what REALLY happened sent chills up my spine. I cannot imagine how terrifying it must have been. I pray to God that the law will back them 100% and make Murtha pay dearly for his foul, fat, traitorist mouth.
ReplyDeleteAh, this is great. There is some justice in the world after all. Usually soldiers just take it on the chin but I'm thrilled to see these men standing up for their honor which they could not count on from Congressman Murtha.

ReplyDeleteI heard that interview on Sean's show yesterday. The pain in that father's voice was palpable! It was difficult listening. If they have a defense fund set up, I will be helping them defray their costs to get that SOB Murtha. He's the only real honest-to-God EX Marine I've ever heard of!!!
ReplyDeletei personally worked with all the guys that werent put in the brig. Sharrat was a good pudgy kid who always had a smile and avaters... talk to him as a friend and youll learn Lt Phan was the one who jacked everything up and did the wrong. And the ONLY one not to serve brig time. I also worked with lt phan.. he doesnt deserve his comission or his title of marine
